57 AND STILL SURVIVING: HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY NIGERIA
NATIONAL ANTHEM.
Arise, o compatriots,
Nigeria's call obey
To serve our fatherland
With love and strength and faith
The labour of our heroes past
Shall never be in vain
To serve with heart and might
One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity.
Second Anthem
O God of creation
Direct our noble cause
Guide our leaders right
Help our youth the truth to know
In love and honesty to grow
And living just and true
Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace
And justice shall reign
On This day 1960, this Nation started its journey into freedom and development by gaining its indepence.
57 years down and we are still alive. Yes we fight! Yes we quarell! Yes we hate! Yes we are corrupt! Yes there is a probability that we might divide looking at the current situation of things! But 57 years is gone and we are still surviving.
There is no doubt even with our economic recession, and terrorist attack by Boko Haram (although this has reduced to a large extent), we still stand tall as the giant of Africa. I guess that is why we are located at the Heart of Africa (No offence to other African countries). One Major factor that has kept us is what i call the "9ja instict"- a natural tendency to be hardworking.
We can be very proud and you can't blame us for that (what do you expect from the most populous black country in the whole world).
Also we are fun to be with; Nigeria can make you laugh even in hell..king of sarcasms. We are the marketing force of africa when it comes to entertainment; music, nollywood etc.
Our dishes speak volume for us; no wonder other countries compete with us for best "jollof rice"; '4get dat tin, 9ja jollof sharp like ijiji' (i just wrote in pidgin english). The hausa' rock with their "Tuwo"
Yorubas' slay with their pounded yam/amala with ewedu and bushmeat (are you thinking what I'm thinking).
Igbos'; I lack words to express these ones...you need to come see for yourself.
Enough of the Hype now;
Matthew 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
We may not have all for now but i can call on nigerians to come together and work for the greater good. I remember how nigerians united themselves like Manchester United to fight against Ebola outbreak and i wish we could do that again. Pray for the leaders and obey constituted laws and authority...with that we can have a better nigeria.
NATIONAL PLEDGE.
I pledge to Nigerian my country
To be faithful, loyal and honest
To serve Nigeria with all my strength
To defend her unity
And uphold her honour and glory
So help me God.
STAY BLESSED!
KEEP STEEMING!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NIGERIA.
Congratulations to you and the rest of the nation. Stay blessed...upvoted, resteemed and commented
Deep inside my heart, i can still feel my pulse for our ailing Country.
We will rise above our woes!
I LOVE NIGERIA.
Definitely Sir.
Hello @jemimah
When Nigerians really know the potential of what we have as a Nation that is when everyone will really sit up and work.
The greatest asset we need to make impact is partnership and we can only achieve that when we work together.
@ogochukwu
True bro...a tree cant make a forest but nigerians are doing exactly the same
Exactly bro... U just hit the nail on the head.
