Homeless Dog Found - Allegory 1
Welcome Steemit friends. It is time for a tear jerker.
When I first saw him, I thought it was Lady. Then, I saw Rusty and Lady go to him to defend the house. I realized I had not been drunk for a long time but now there were two Ladies.
Fortunately, there was someone here who was able to check and see that the second Lady had balls.
Thank goodness. I was not seeing double and had lost my mind. There really was two dogs that looked nearly alike if you are wearing your reading glasses and forgot to take them off.
Oh, look how skinny that dog is. Here he survived out in the wastes of the desert in which I live. Finally, he made contact this morning with Rusty:
Brother and sister, Rusty and Lady, violently assaulted the unknown desert survival dog and stole his name tag with his phone number. They were arrested by the dog police and put in doggy jail for this.
We were left to care for the now barely surviving dog and moved him into the chicken coop to the right after feeding him.
In the chicken coop, we closed the gate. Even though the fence is down from the tornado last week, the homeless, abandoned dog was too weak to flee over the downed fence. Bemoaning his plight as a reincarnated Patch, the father of Rusty and Lady whined as he lay on the roof of the underground chicken coop.
Heroically, I went back there because while he whined Rusty and Lady would not shut up. I opened the gate to free him. He was so shocked by the cruel world in which we live. It took a long time to get him to walk out of the chicken coop through the gate. Once he was out I started to walk away.
"This is mine, all mine!" He said in dog language. He ran back into the chicken coop. That is where he sits at this time. He is alone, outside, but near an unapproved shelter without air conditioning. We are making a dog poster.
We will splash the dog poster around town. We will paste the dog poster across the internet and around the world. That, the owner of the this poor beast who ran away from the ones he loves to chase a rabbit or antelope.
He single-mindedly ran so far and so fast across the vast terrain that those who loved him could not follow. Hours, maybe days later, he realized - Oh No! "I ran off into the middle of nowhere in a desert, in the middle of a drought. However shall I survive?"
Months later leaner, faster, surviving off only rodents and unchlorinated water he tentatively approached the house and found refuge. He is the homeless vagrant out back. He survives yet one more day in a world where it is dog eat dog.
A little while ago, while getting water from a public source, I found an abandoned sign with a neck chain that was broken. "Will Guard for Food," The sign said.
