Taco Tuesday. A time honored tradition.

I don't know if it's an American thing or not, but everyone around here knows what Taco Tuesday is. It's that one day during the week when it's okay to eat all the tacos you want.

It happens once per week every single week for your entire life.

It's called Tuesday.

Otherwise known as Taco Tuesday.

When I was a systems analyst making a lot more money, I had all the best taco places in town jotted down. I used to go downtown to get some expensive Mexican food all the time.

In those days, money really wasn't an issue.

I probably had about six different joints that I would frequent every couple of months. I could alternate between them and it was always a great time.

Tacos, tequila, and everything else you can imagine.

Everyone was invited.

It was kind of like happy hour every Tuesday.

The best happy hours include tacos, nachos, flautas, and every other Mexican treat you can imagine, and let's not forget about the tequila, Margaritas, and all kinds of Mexican beers.

Well times have changed and I don't make nearly as much money as I did back then but there's no reason that we can't still enjoy our taco Tuesdays.

Nowadays Taco Tuesday usually means fast food unless I'm feeling like cooking. I haven't really been feeling like cooking lately so that's meant Taco Bell, Taco Bueno, and Jack in the Box for the most part.

Taco Bell usually has some kind of a box deal for five bucks. To be honest, it's probably my least favorite taco joint around here but it's also the quickest and you can always find a Taco Bell even if you just start walking in a random direction.

Taco Bueno on Tuesdays is really a great deal because you can get their $4.99 Taco platter for only $2.99.

That includes two tacos, rice and beans, chips and guacamole. It's an incredible deal for the price and even though it doesn't make me feel as good as I used to when I went to expensive Taco joints back in the day, it still feels like a good Taco Tuesday.

Jack in the Box has had two tacos for a dollar for almost as long as I can remember, although there was a brief period of time when I believe they raised the price and then decided that was a bad idea so they went back down to the two tacos for a dollar deal.

Everybody knows about Jack in the boxes two tacos for a dollar deal, and everybody that I know loves them. There's been some question on whether or not they are pure beef or if there is soy based nutrition inside them, but it doesn't really matter. They're delicious and they're a great price.

Of course the best tacos are the ones that you make yourself. If I have a day off and a bunch of beer and some friends over then making tacos at the house is a great idea.

If I worked all day and I still want to celebrate Taco Tuesday then I'll probably go with one of the above three choices.
