Looking back on Crypto opportunities missed.steemCreated with Sketch.

Have you ever thought about all of the different things that you missed out on? I'm talking about opportunities to make money that you've missed out on.

Opportunities in the Blockchain world that involve money that you missed out on.

The first thing that comes to mind, having been involved with this particular blockchain for a long time, is the incident in which SBD rose up 15 times.

That's right. SBD is supposed to be pegged at $1. In recent times we've seen it at much lower than $1. However, there was a time when it really did stay at $1 for most occasions.

There was also a time when it rose up to $2. I ran back to one of the forums I was on and told everyone that they might consider selling their SBD since it's worth double its value now.

I even read about a guy on Steem that bought a house with his SBD since it had doubled its worth.

Then it went up to $15.

Yep.

Talk about opportunity lost. I don't think many people were able to take advantage of that $15 price, but if you were Kudos to you.

The next opportunity that I think about is Tron.

I decided I was going to buy a bunch since I had gotten a bee in my bonnet about getting some. I tried to put some money into Coinbase, but for some reason it was having trouble accepting it. I tried and tried for weeks before finally getting my money in that account.

By that time Tron had gone up to about $0.15. I wasn't sure about putting money into it anymore. It then ran all the way up to $0.28.

Then it dumped.

I think Tron was one of the first coins that showed me how volatile the crypto-currency market actually is. I knew it was volatile, but I had no idea it was the kind of thing that could make you rich or make you poor in the course of a week.

Of course, if you want to look really far back you can go to the 2011 era in which Bitcoin was $0.01. I don't think there's any point in going back in that far though.

I do think it's worth mentioning ETH though. I definitely was eyeballing ETH when it was about $14. I couldn't figure out how to buy any though. It's not a simple process getting involved with cryptocurrency for the first time.

What a disappointment not pursuing that course of action ultimately turned out to be.

Of course I've been in projects that completely failed and ended up with me losing everything I put in.

It's a risk.

You can even look at Bitconnect and say wow everybody lost a bunch of money but that's not entirely true. There are also a lot of people that made a bunch of money near the beginning.

Sometimes it's about seeing opportunities and knowing how to take advantage of them.

I have a strong feeling that there are many opportunities around the corner.

One of those opportunities is in Steem.

Did you buy low?

It's priced at $0.41 right now, and I can tell you that is still really low.

I wouldn't miss the opportunity to buy more Steem.

Also, I'd be on the lookout for new opportunities just around the corner.

Sort:

I don't know enough about it to be a good guesser. :) I know people that were here when it was really hopping, but I had moved and didn't have wifi at the time..... and didn't want to blog on my phone. I was a little late to the game.... but ... oh well ! :)

It's not too late to get in on the ground floor. I remember when Steem was $3, $5, $8. I fully expect it to be above $10 within a couple of years too.

Yeppers! We tried to tell you! It was so sweet! Well, you may just yet be able to get a taste of it!

Oh thanks Mr. Itoldyouso !

hard to time👍

Definitely.

What I figured out for myself is to not try to play the market, never worked for me. I buy when it is low and enjoy the ride. This is a very long-term thing for me.

And yes I just bought some more as you can see with one of my recent posts and yes I will definitely double my SP over the next week or 2 :)
Also some Tron...
And maybe EOS...
And ETH...
And BTC...
And maybe I'm just addicted to coins :D

Yeah. There have been countless missed opportunities in crypto - both to buy low as well as to sell high. I personally wasnt lucky enough to get into crypto super early when people were making like 15,000% returns. That would have been nice. I havent been seeing as many pump and dumps lately as I used to see. Last year it was as if every week a new token was pumped and dumped. But anyway, You are right that now seems like a good time to buy. The market is low and it does seem to be turning around. I'm seeing more and more green these days. I'm hopeful

It is really low at 41c, and I keep buying it when I can.. trying to buy others too such as BtC and Eth. Dont put your eggs in one basket they say..

I also lost around $1000 on BicConnect.. but it did not deter me. Its all a learning thing..,

If you have Discord I'd love to show you a picture of my biggest loss.

I have some myself! Yes Im on there.

Okay. I sent the picture to you.

All i can regret is not joining steemit earlier. Nit joining when steemit was worth more like 7$ upward. Not joining steemit when less people still yet to discover.

But i am happy still on steemit now despite been late to it. It is a rare priviledge i am enjoying to be on steemit

Maybe .25 was the bottom of Steem. Sure seems to be strong today.

I think we have a pretty good chance of hitting a dollar soon and then just continuing upward.

Good evening. I am Ugochukwu , a newbie on Steemit and Partiko. I am very much interested in Steemfiction and I want to know what requirements are there to join.

You are absolutely right, this world of cryptocurrencies is very transient, you have to be patient in many cases and try to predict the future, but it is difficult. Sometimes it's a bit of luck
