Is beauty a gift or a curse?
We all encounter beautiful people in our lives.
Some of us may even be quite good looking ourselves.
People come in all shapes and sizes. You've got some real knockouts, handsome men and gorgeous women........ then again you've got some people that perhaps weren't as blessed in the looks department.
Is beauty actually a blessing though?
Earlier today I posted about some creepy gentleman that always come in and ask to sit with a beautiful waitress.

You might say......... well it's great that the beautiful waitress can always count on their patronage. However, it is also true that she will have to endure their constant ogling.
Just putting a picture of a pretty face on your YouTube, Facebook, or even Steemit profile can get you some unwanted attention as a matter of fact.
It's as if seeing beauty brings out the ugly side of people.
I thought I'd come up with some pros and cons for being beautiful.
PRO
Beautiful people tend to get hired more often for jobs in my experience. When we interview someone the first question everyone asks me is...... how did she look?
Professors and other high ranking people tend to give beautiful people more of a break. At first I thought this was a myth but having spent some time at college I noticed quite a few instances where beautiful women were able to get away with more than their peers.

When you are beautiful everyone has a tendency to look at you.... and continue to stare. It's not like you're an actress or an actor so you didn't exactly ask to be in the public eye but yet here you are with all eyes on you.
Beautiful people can often be treated with disdain. A car salesman is more likely to try to take advantage of a beautiful woman in my opinion. It seems to me that having beauty is often associated with not having brains. This is of course completely ridiculous.
So is being beautiful really a gift?
It means that you never have to be alone unless you choose to.
It also means there will always be someone that is trying to connect with you even if you don't want them to.
I think this is one of those questions that will get passed down through the ages.

Beauty might bring happiness but happiness always bring beauty.Beauty is not in the face beauty is a light in a heart.Beauty is the power of smile.

Beauty is a gift!!! But beauty without brain and good character can be a curse if the individual used it negatively....
I think sometimes Beauty can get in the way of having a good character.

I don't really know it is a gift but surely it can t be a curse. depends on how you look at things.But i would say it surely is a "weapon"

It is hard to say whether it is a blessing or a curse, like you say, you tend to be treated more favourably in most circumstances apart from when it comes to intellectual matters.
Not being one of the beautiful people myself, I can't truly comment, however we must all learn to use what we have, and so I would say that perhaps 'the beautiful' are not challenged as much as the rest of us plain looking mortals.

I think that's true and I think it's really a terrible thing. Beautiful people assume that they are living normal lives, but in reality they've been given this set of puzzles that are very easy to solve...... and so when they have to come with a new puzzle they only know how to solve very easy puzzles.
Also, if I was a very beautiful woman I definitely would not want to walk to my car late at night.

Re the car; that's why my daughter is learning boxing/kick boxing, and judo :-)
Also I'm trying to teach her that the value in a person is measured by actions, rather than looks.

I would agree with you. More of a blessing then a curse...... but one has to be careful.
I think being beautiful is a literally a curse since beauty attracts people which is not good. When a girl is attractive she is always subjected to cases like molestation, rape, acid attacks and what not.
every thing has beauty, but not everyone can sees it the best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched they must be felt with the heart. Your outer beauty will capture the eyes but your inner beauty will capture the heart...
