INTRODUCING MY COUNTRY TO STEEMIANS

in #promotion7 years ago

Promoting Steemit in Ghana especially on campus has been one of my focus recently.Today I want to do something quiet different from the normal.

*I want to introduce my country to Steemians*

Ghana is a beautiful and exciting country which serves a home that welcomes different people from around the world and is known for its #hospitlity towards #foreigners .

Its vegetation greening and brightening up the nation when viewed from above at a certain altitude.

It grooms a mixture of animal species, beaches, mountains, landscapes and increadible coastile environment and countless attractive sites .Ghana is boarded by Burkina Faso to the North, Côte d'Ivoire ( Ivory coast ) to the West, Gulf of Guinea to the south and Togo to the east .

Historically known to be Gold coast, Ghana is also know for its mineral wealth , and most notably for her #Gold, #Bauxite , #Manganese , #Diamond not forgetting its fondness in the World of Sports , with special reference to Football.

If you have gotten the chance to witness the BLACK STARS( the national team ) in action , you would know the kind of passion and zeal the people of Ghana have for the sport (football).

Their great performance in Games caught the attention of peopel to get to know more about Ghana . Tourists prefer to call Ghana the GATEWAY TO AFRICA . Geographically , Ghana looks small on the African Map ,yet the country boasts of many many beautiful tourist sites .

Now , let the Journey begin!!

The country's capital , #ACCRA , a city with about 2.5 million residents and one of Africa's safer capitals ,is blended with a mixture of #modern buildings , #shanty, town, #castles , and lively #markets .The central hub is around #MAKOLA #MAKRET.

One can visit the coco beach

Coco Beach
As a Tourist who needs a conducive place to lodge, one of the best places offered is the coco beach

They offer the best of food , shelter and all you could want

Next is the KWAME NKRUMAH MAUSOLEUM ( Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park). The last abode for the #First #President of #Ghana, Osagyefo Dr. kwame Nkrumah.

The design representing the swords upside down symboliing peace .It is also viewed as uprooted tree signifying the unfinished work of Dr.Kwame Nkrumah to totally unite Africa as he intended .

Not only do we have these places in Accra ...

But to mention few..

Outside the Capital, are many, many tourists sites which cannot be captured in today's session .

Cape coast Castle .

One cannot talk about tourist sites #without mentioning a visit to the Cape coast castle

Built by the Europeans during the 17th century, the castle was built purposely for slave trade and one of the most impressive and old forts: originally built by the Dutch in 1637, later expanded to the Swedes and finally the #British took over on 1664, capturing it into the #colonial #Headquarters .

                      *Kakum National Park*

A dense tropical forest in Southern Ghana. Contains about 40 species of larger animals including elephants , buffalos, mona-merkals etc. The birds are wide in diversity .

Its canopy walkway built about 30meters above the ground with interconnected bridges .The essence is to offer a unique and attract view of the wildlife and forest reserve .

Trainee guides are on the hand to help in providing detailed insight into medicinal uses of some plants and a brief history about the reserve .

Nzulezu :
a town built on water, resisdents here are surrounding by water and cross to the other side of the town via canoe. #Nzulezu is a Nzema( a local dialect )word which refers to “surface water”. This very unique village is built on stilt in the Tandane Lake.

The park is considered a primary African preserve for antelope species including kob, Defassa waterbuck, roan, hartebeest, oribi, the bushbuck, and two duikers, the red duiker and yellow-backed Duiker. Olive baboons, black-and-white colobus monkeys, the green vervet, and patas monkeys are the known species of monkeys resident in the park
