PORTRAIT INTERPRETATION

MY INTERPRETATION

On my first glance, all I saw was a dirty hand,I wondered what I was going to do with that, then I looked at it with my writing eyes, the picture took a new look, and I discovered what I will call the perfect description.

The image can be termed trinity cause it is portraying three things in one.

1. Marriage (the ring)
2. Darkness (the black background)
3. Hardwork (The filthy hands)

DEFINITIONS

~MARRIAGE :- According to psychology,marriage is the process by which two people make their relationship official and get joined as one, in a bond that putatively lasts until death.
Ring worn in the second finger symbolises marriage,so it's obvious that the owner of the hand which is masculine, is married.

~DARKNESS :- There are different definition of darkness but in this aspect, darkness means lack of understanding or compassion, reference to death or suffering.
Black colour is often regarded as darkness or evil.

~HARDWORK :- According to google,Hard work is the basis for everything worthwhile one will achieve in life. If work is applying ability, then hard work is applying ability with intensity and focus to the exclusion of other possibilities.
Farming and mechanical engineering are works that top on the scale of occupation that involves hard work. The hand on the image have stains that could be as a result of farming or mechanical work,this is what brought hardwork to the picture.

WHY TRINITY?

I know you are wondering where am heading to and why I described the image as three in one trinity. You probably do not see any relationship between Marriage, Darkness and Hardwork. I will clear your doubt.
When most single people picture marriage, they see it from the bright side,the honeymoon, photoshoot(I will make a post on this soon), beautiful kids,outings and many others. I am sorry to tell you that there are other sides of marriage you might not be familiar with and that is the dark side of marriage.

Every marriage has its dark side,even the most perfect marriage, that couple you admire,the one that uploads their travel pictures on social media, the one that write sweet words to eachother, they all encounter the dark side of marriage, even your beloved pastor.

The dark side of marriage could be hell on earth, you wish you never got married, you want some alone time,you feel you made a mistake choosing your partner, you argue over anything, their presence irritates you,you feel like given up, you believe they changed, you see wrong in almost everything they do,the next door couple seems perfect to you, you believe they are the cause of your misfortune, you believe they no longer care.......so much more. About 99.8% or more couples face all that atleast once in their life time, there is almost no escape root,this dark side of marriage is the cause of increase in divorce but how come some stay till old age and even die together? That's where hardwork comes in.

The fact that your parents are still together doesn't mean that they have some supernatural powers or do not encounter the darkness that comes with marriage, it only means that they work hard, they are determined and focused,they fight to the end,they give their marriage their best short.
It's true that every Dick and Harry wants to get married, say I do,leave their parents house,have a blast wedding, e.t.c but how many people are ready to work hard for it?

You might want to know what it takes to work hard in marriage, is it by cooking the best meal? Working in a good industry? Getting your hands stained?
No!!! I will tell you what it takes but before that,I want to remind you that the hands there is masculine. In today's world, we have been made to believe that it's the duty of a woman to keep her marriage, if marriage fails,it's the woman's fault. Most parents seat their daughter down and teach her how to be a good daughter but almost none do that for their son. Here we have a masculine hand with ring and stained hands, the man is working. This is a challenge for men out there, all the work is not for the wife,you have a part to play as well,duty calls for you too,work hard for your marriage.

Now what does it take to be hardworking in marriage and overcome the darkness

You choose your partner for a reason, always have that in mind,remember that you signed in for better or worse, when times are bad remember the good times,love them unconditionally, remove divorce as an option, try to communicate better, read books, seek for advice from worthy people, pray.

DONT GET IT TWISTED

Marriage is not all about darkness and hardwork, there are brighter side of it,marriage is a beautiful thing, an achievement, a divine gift. But always remember that how you handle the darkness determines how long the light would shine.
