Volcano shapes.
A volcano shape depends on the type of eruption that caused it and the sort of material that comes out.
• shield volcanoes(left) are shaped like upturned saucers, with gentle slopes.
• cinder cone volcanoes are high, with steep slopes.
• stratovolcanoes (left) are cone shaped mountains.

Types of eruption 🌋
Eruptions are given different names, depending on how strong they are.
• Hawaiian eruptions are not very violent. They pour out liquid lava in fiery rivers.
• Strombolian eruptions produce thicker lava, but not too violently. They erupt continuously.
• vulcanian eruptions produce violent explosions and throw out tephra, dust,gas and ash.
• Peléean eruptions are huge explosions which throw out a massive cloud of gas and lava.
