Untalented: Goals and Gratitude
Untalented - I did not know what the tag was for or how did it come about but it surely resonated with me.

There's joy here in Steemit!
A picture of me when I was a kid. Kidding. There's some resemblance though :p
I found Steemit through a casual suggestion by a friend who’s not even active in the community. I registered two and a half weeks ago without background info on the platform, and I didn’t know anyone either. And as I was checking intro posts from the Philippines, there’s one word that’s always been repeated that struck me the most.
The Untalented Magic
I felt that it’s a word that I can own. Partly because I felt like I’ve got nothing to offer yet and I still didn’t have much confidence in my writing. But more than that, there was a certain magic that attracted me to it. Untalented is an incredibly humbling term that strips away status, education, power and everything you’ve built and earned. If you take away all these things that the world often measures people’s worth, then what else is left?
A tiny human in this grand universe. When you take away all the status and labels, then we’d probably see the rawest nature of a human and all its potential. The potential to do good or bad, to laugh or cry, to give or take, to care and hurt, and so much more. It’s a bit odd that by thinking of myself as untalented, I had gained more confidence in aspiring things and gained more resolve in trying to accomplish my goals.Untalented uncovers the nature of a human - something limitless and beautiful
I’m not sure if that’s the intent behind the word but it’s the message I got. This post is also an expression of gratitude to the champion of the word, Terry. If you’ll be able to read this; Thank you for the inspiration and empowerment, and all the support you've given to the community.
My love for Steemit grows
There’s much joy in Steemit. I found several nuggets of wisdom, new perspectives, passionate poetry, amazing music and so much more. The interactions I made with other Steemians, no matter if it’s just a brief message or a long exchange of comments, have all been incredibly gratifying. I appreciate that even with differences in race, location and other things, people can still find a common ground and share their insights and life. It has affirmed my belief that people are truly connected.
With my newly adoptive families - #steemitfamilyph and #steemitachievers, I feel there are many more good things to experience here in Steemit. They are such a supportive bunch (Thanks a lot!). And even people who I’ve “met” outside of those communities were all amazing and welcoming. Thank you for engaging a noob like me in meaningful and thoughtful exchanges. You guys rock.
Untalented Goals
So writing has always been my hidden passion. I kept it locked in because of several excuses … but when I found Steemit all those excuses were obliterated bit by bit. The mindset change is not entirely because of Steemit, of course; but by seeing people openly sharing about their life, art and just about anything, it made me realize how much I was missing out on.
At first, I dreaded the possible outcome of no one reading my posts, but I arrived at the thought - would this fear be bigger than my desire to write? Recently, I’ve started (trying) to adopt a toddler’s mindset. If they see crayons or paint, they’d probably grab ‘em without a second thought and destroy the first white wall they see. It doesn’t matter if the result is appreciated or not, what matters more is that the instinct to express and impact the world have been quenched.Well, only time will tell if I’d prove truthful to my goals; but with nothing much to lose and much more to gain, and with all these burning ideas in my head, I think my odds are good :)

You are such an inspiration @jazzhero just keep on what you are practicing and for sure you will be there. I also saw your concern about being a curator great job! I do hope that you will be one in the next coming days because the community definitely needs people that are willing to help others achieve their goals.
All the best and continue on writing!
Thank you for the nice words @tpkidkai. I'm not sure how it'll work out but I'll try as much as I can to support the community. I'm new and some things are confusing but it's fun so far. Thanks for all the support :)
Yeah just enjoy the ride here on steemit. If you have concerns or something that you are confused of there's a group chat and I am seeing you active on that too. Just fire those questions and someone will answer them for you. Your success will be the success of the people behind your backs too!
Agree, I've discovered that having fun is the key hehe :) Thanks for the support.
Let me just say that you are doing such a great job! Talent and goals - I think these are enough drive to help you succeed in this platform. You are amazing, both as a writer and as someone who has a big heart for the community. 👏
Thank you for the kind words. I haven't done much yet but in the future, I hope I could help a lot :)
And if I may echo what you said: you're very creative with amazing insights. Let's have fun blogging and I'm sure it'll go well.
Yes, FUN is the magic word! :) Everything will just follow - recognition, earnings, reputation, etc when one is passionate and truly loves what he/she does. All the best Jazz, and thank you for the kind words as well! :)
@originalworks, please? thanks.
wow! you've grown so much in this community @jazzhero! We're same, trying to adopt. But the good thing about this, we're welcomed with open arms in this community! Cheers! We have even gained a helping hand from people we do not know, but we know that the support is genuinely given. That's the best part!
Yes indeed. We got a lot of support, so it becomes natural to give back and support others as well :)
I'm really happy with your progress too. It's a good thing we started and kept going. Let's keep it up!
Thank you! Indeed! Thanks because we started! So proud of you, as well @jazzhero! ☺️
