Got Friends?
Got Friends?
If you make it clear to me that you don't want me around for whatever reason, you will not have to tell me twice. I'm gone! For those of us who value close friends we would do just about anything for them and we wouldn't forsake them in their time of need.
Psalms 41:9
Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
There may be times in life where we don't have anyone close to us, outside of immediate family members. It is in these times we can fully trust that Jesus Christ, is not only our Savior, but also our good friend. Now, we may brush that off, and see Jesus being our friend as something we know superficially, but don't see how it really applies in our daily life.
If we find ourselves in a situation, where friends have forsaken us or we just feel lonely for no particular reason, Jesus wants us to know how miraculous His friendship is.
John 15:13
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
"You mean, I can be best friends with Jesus?" Yes!
"You mean, I can tell Jesus stuff in private and He won't post it on Face book?" Yes!
"You mean, I can talk to Jesus and count on Him, and trust Him, and through His word, He'll talk back to me?" Yes!
In fact you can be all alone and have no one else in the world, like the Apostle John on the Island of Patmos, and still have the eternal bond of friendship with Jesus.
Hebrews 13:5
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
