Placing VOTING POWER where it is DESERVED!
There is a lot to be said for putting your FULL attention
where it is deserved the most...
I have begun to think about this quite a lot recently
as our @steemitbloggers community has really started to flourish -
and it has made me re-asses who and what I denote my "energies" to.
Placing VOTING POWER where it is DESERVED!
......
Quite a few months ago, I began making use of the Steem Voter Auto Upvote service. It is a fantastic tool... (in theory)... especially when you have a hectic agenda and cannot always get to supporting the posts published by the people you enjoy and appreciate.
However, I have to say, that much like with anything else in life...
your choices, preferences and interactions change and evolve.
When selecting specific people to "auto upvote" it was never about expecting it in return. It was about showing appreciation to the content creators that I respected and enjoyed reading but I simply HAVE to say, that it is truly SHOCKING to see how FEW people EVER return the favour.... in fact it is honestly SAD!
The reason this has begun to irritate me and therefore change my plan of action moving forward is because I now have a FAMILY that I would like to support generously and more often than not, when I go through the content of the members in our fantastic @steemitbloggers community... my voting power is so bloody depleted from offering it up to "others" that I simply do not feel that I am giving what they deserve in terms of reward for their effort.
Not only that... but these are the people that tirelessly support my content - not only with their beautifully genuine feedback, but with their voting power too and the reality is that I don't even think that some of these "other" people have ever even glanced at my blog, let alone supported it... and that just simply doesn't sit well with me.
You know... I am a busy woman! I have a LOT on my plate, yet somehow I manage to make time (well I try my best to anyway) to respond to 99% of the people that make the effort of engaging on my posts.... I try to visit their blogs and support them too.
It is a two way street you know?!
Well, it SHOULD be in my opinion...
There was a lesson I learnt acutely in business and that is...that it is your BREAD AND BUTTER clients that float your boat... they may not be worth much as individuals in terms of spending power, but they are the ones that placed into the bread basket actually hold the power in numbers and make a HUGE impact on your overall turnover.
Moral of the lesson: Do not disregard the "little people"... they hold a LOT more power in the steering of your ship than you realise.
So, I am getting just a little tired of supporting individuals that very clearly take all their "little supporters" for granted! I would FAR rather put that energy into the people that understand the concept of giving, receiving and gratitude in general.
It is for the above reasons that I have now decided to cancel ALL my auto upvoting and rather make a more concerted effort to physically vote for the people who are active within my sphere of being here on the Steemit platform.
This makes a WHOLE lot more sense to me... and makes my heart a LOT happier :)
As I am now personally monitoring and sharing all of our #steemitbloggers posts on not only our @steemitbloggers Steemit page but also on our FACEBOOK and TWITTER platforms too, I will be actively engaging with, and supporting them too.... in REAL time! lol!
This way, the voting power that I DO have, can get directed towards people that actually value and appreciate it.
YAY!!!!
To infinity and beyond #steemitbloggers

Until next time...
Much Love from Cape Town, South Africa xxx

@jaynie no truer words spoken then what you have written.I am a 2 week old steemian having put effort into my blogs aswell as upvoting and commenting on other posts. My power maybe little but i would really appreciate support from other steemers.I can totally understand how busy you are as i am the same.I really appreciate your words and going against the auto upvoting sytems. You actually restore faith in the fellow steemians. P.s i came across your account by the picture of your yummy cheeseboard.I love fig and blue cheese! 👍❤🧀
So glad this resonated with you @pamcooks. Apologies for the delayed response, it has been a very busy couple of days :)
I could not agree with you more! Supporting one another mutually is definitely something we should all be doing!
Thank you for your wonderfully insightful feedback and for taking the time to stop by and read my content.
Stay in touch and all the best to you on your Steemit journey hon :)

Thank you for your kind words @jaynie.Having been in a hectic corporate environment, I am now engrossed in motherhood.I really wanted to do something from home. For me Steemit is not the monetary aspect. It is more engaging with one another with my thoughts and passions being shared.I just get happy knowing someone has viewed my blog.If i get upvote, followed etc that is a bonus.
Your blog hit the nail on the head.I will defo be following your blogs👍
And I really look forward to seeing more from you too hon xxx
Bless you.xxx
I really feel like singing for you haha. I love it when people place appropriate value of their friendship because i love to do that too.
If we care enough, share enough, the world will have enough. The world have enough of our needs but not enough for our greed. Greed is the reason why they hardly return the favour and failing to recognise your help. I like you a lot and you are so real. Keep being you. When you look at your friends, raise your glass ans salute those who raise their glass to yours. Just continue being you. Mutualism always make things easier. Thank you for sharing this.
As always.... PRECISELY!!!! :)
Thank you beautiful. :)
But it is still amazing how little bit of interaction can bring you closer to a person in a way that both of you gets to grow.
Every word as a spell. Every spell as a vow.
With love, @spellmaker
I love your way with words! and yes.... VERY true!
Great idea @jaynie! I believe that if we support each other in our small @steemitbloggers community will all grow and be powerful! We can do this!
PRECISELY!!!! @rwedegis! and YES we WILL!!! ;)
This is really nice. Little things matter and often times we take them for granted. Most people hardly return the favour and take such people for granted. That's the world we live in. Keep being your selfless self. We need more people who value content and friendship like you. Thank you.
Thank you @sharliz
Thank you too. :)
your friend
@sorenkierkegaard
Thank you, your support is greatly appreciated!
I've caught myself looking at "My blog" more than my feed a few times. It's important to spread the love! Thanks for the reminder and your support!
hahaha we are ALL guilty of that @ray4u... so don't feel alone there :P hehehe :)
For sure!!!
Well said Jaynie ❤
Thanks Kimmie xxx
Yeah, it's true that not a lot of people give back even if you support them for a while. Most only care about themselves and they will never look your way. Happy to see that you actually want to support the people that support you as well!
Damn Straight @trendo! I am DONE supporting people that don't even care to know that I exist lol ;)
It's basically the golden rule!
Great food for thought, Jaynie, thanks.
