Ons Huisie - Our small home.
It is amazing how many new places you discover when you have dog lol! Since we adopted posh pup we are always looking for places that are "dog friendly" and even though some of the places we have discovered have been around for ages - we did not know about many of them, mostly because they were not in our immediate surrounds.
One of which was this fabulous little spot called "Ons Huisie" which translates into "our small home" and it is just that! Tradional Cape Dutch in style all the tables are set out in the individual rooms within the house and then the outside deck areas look straight onto the beach... literally a stones throw away!
It is a perfect spot to enjoy lunch and then afterwards you can take your pooch for a run on the beach. The atmosphere is wonderfully laid back, so much so that we ended up feeding not only the seagulls at our table but about thirty little white eyes too. haha!!!
I think what completes an already fabulous "picture" is that not only is the food absolutely divine, but it is also very reasonably priced and to sit in such a beautiful place with the views they offer... that is a real treat!
I kicked off with some oysters... because, well... OYSTERS!!! haha and then, I added to that with a bonus plate of prawns... because... yes, you guessed it - PRAWNS!!! haha!
And then finishing off an amazing lunch and a picture perfect afternoon with a stroll on the beach before heading home! Will definitely be going back there again soon!

As I was 19 before I first experienced the ocean, it has always held a special fascination for me @jaynie. So, I enjoyed reading your post about this nice little place, with a great view of the ocean and what appears to be very tasty seafood!
We all need special places to get away from it all, from time to time. It appears you've found a good one!
Oh wow! I can imagine how amazing that must have been for you! Having grown up surrounded by ocean and beaches you (sadly) tend to take it for granted somewhat.
As for the great spot... there is no shortage of those here in our beautiful Mother City. Perhaps you should visit! :)

... there are many places in the world I would like to personally experience someday. Short of that, I always enjoy "seeing through the eyes" of others here on our Steem blockchain.
It is one of my favorite parts of engaging "in here," as it seems universally desirable to see other parts of our world, i.e. transcending the cultural and language barriers we may find present with other topics ...
P.S. Out of curiosity, have you written any posts about your reference to "Mother City?" If so, I'd welcome a link, as I would be interested in the story behind it.
That is so true! Especially with food. I love seeing the cultural diversity!
As for the term mother city.. no, I have neither written about it nor extensively explored it. Good idea!!! And yes I will let you know of and when. :)

It is amazing how many new places you discover when you have a dog. This is so true! During the days traveling back and forth between North Carolina and Ohio, I would always look for dog friendly rest stops to take a run or grab a quick bite. Adventures off the beaten path - another wonderful perk of sharing your life with a furbaby 🌱
So true! I love having him with us on our little adventures! He adds a whole new dimension to the experience.
Any place with a canoe and a doggie bar (I loved that!) must be great. Really neat looking atmosphere inside, too!
