Lazy Days...

“There's never enough time to do all the nothing you want.” - Bill Watterson

Now aint that the truth! Today was exactly one of those days where achieving a whole lot of nothing was VERY high on the agenda. I woke up, looked out the window - saw that the weather had taken a turn for the worse and decided to climb back under the blankets, roll over in the other direction and sleep some more.

When I finally did rise, I made sure to sit around in my PJ's for atleast two hours before making myself decent lol - which only happened just in time to watch the BOKKE play Namibia which in essence was a rather boring match with an end score of 57 - 3 to us. Watching Jude and Herbie sleep in his basket on the floor was probably more entertaining hehe... (just kidding...)

After the game was done, Herbie and I took a walk around the garden... much to his delight. I must say, he has proven to be an incredibly adaptable little pup. My dad started a mini olive grove a little while back and Herbie had great pleasure entering psycho mode as he raced around it repeatedly like a maniac.

When going out into the garden I was banking on some good photos because the sun was behind cloud and that normally makes for good photos - but naturally the sun peeked out for pretty much JUST the duration of our walk so I did not get as many happy snaps as I would have liked and the wind was also not cooperating hahaha...

I went for a nap, then dad went for a nap, pup went for a nap - highly productive afternoon as you can tell haha!!! When I woke up, dad was still snoozing and I decided to get supper on the go... and yes, to add to the laziness - we are having leftovers. I just decided to stirfry some veg to add to the left over rice.

Jude and I ended up having a bit of a bluetooth war lol... because my JBL bubble and his headphones kept cross-communicating lol... I eventually told him to go sit outside on the other side of the garden... LOL - just kidding - what mother would get that right! He won the war of close proximity... haha - but eventually his headphones died and then I got some joy, which was just in time for WINE TIME!

I sat down in the breakfast room to sit and write and as I sit here now at the head of the table I got a little nostalgic, remembering December holidays when the whole family was together. The table that I sit at now earned the title of crypto corner because we would all be sitting around the table on our laptops doing one ting or another that was crypto related. The boys discussing the past and the future of the markets and so forth... I actually took a photo of all of us sitting around here one afternoon, and I looked for it, but I cannot find it sadly - would love to have shared that.

And apparently I am going to have to buy Jude a dog basket too at this rate hahaha...

Well that is my unexciting and completely unproductive news for the day lol - and with 100% rain forecast for tomorrow I am not seeing much of a change on the horizon hehe :)

❤❤❤

Until next time...
Much Love from Cape Town, South Africa xxx

Days like this are great from time to time... I think it is what weekends are for :)

... I think it is what weekends are for :)

hahaha I can relate to that - even the weekends always seem to be made up of "go go go" these days so yes, it was fantastic to actually hit the "slow mo" button for a couple of days... hence my delayed replies :D

Inspiring life times :) thanks for sharing...

And thanks for stopping by :)

Well this post gets my vote right away! I know what you mean by lazy days but don't get many right now. The dog is sweet and can understand the joy. We have a new puppy in the family (my granddaughter's) called Neo and he's adorable. I get to look after him and entered his photo in the #dailypetphoto contest, the first time I ever did that. I loved South Africa and Cape Town in particular. I spent some time there way back when and stayed at the Victoria & Albert, quite a new hotel then. I was a very privileged person as I was invited by the tourist board and got to see almost all South Africa. Enjoy your days and your beautiful country.

Yeah such days are very few and far between so we have to grab them with both hands!!! Lovely to hear someone share such positive things about our beautiful country! You should come and visit again some time!

As for the puppy, yes they are a handful but totally worth it!

Hello Jaynie
Thank you for your comment. I just realised how long ago this was, have been very busy. Neo is now 9 months old and has been in quarantine for two weeks due to a doggie cough. Quite awful as I was staying with my grandchildren 15 and 12 and they were upset to see him in such a state. Fortunately I managed to get him to a vet and we followed all instructions and within a day or two he was back to normal (but still in quarantine) it meant he couldn't mix with other dogs during that time for fear of spreading it. My daughter and her husband of 18 years went to New York for a few days for St Valentine's Day. Her first visit and they loved it. I spent many happy times there when I used to travel write.
Re the dof, if only people were so good, we now have Coronavirus in our town of Kingston! I shall stay near home for a while to see how that works out, I always wash my hands carefully anyway. So awful as it's now in the community. If the message doesn't get out correctly and in time, people get confused. This is an awful virus and I hope you stay well too, and emerge from the other end of this virus (it will eventually go away) safe and well.
Thank heavens for Neo who twice weekly keeps me out walking and even running (at age 78) so makes me feel good. I would visit if I could afford to nowadays. However things may be looking up as someone is interested in a methodology I have for clearing up shared drives. I must look more at your post and what you are up to!
Best regards Jeanne

Okay, knowing how much work goes into taking, uploading, fixing, etc all those photos, I call shenanigans on your lazy day! 😂

Although now that I think about it, this is probably your definition of being lazy - if I tried to capture the essence of one of my lazy days in a post, it would simply be this...
