Wednesday Walk - Walking in the Rain - Actifit: May 25 2022

We’ve had a lot of rain the last day or two. On top of several previous spring rains and the snowmelt before that, our lakes and rivers are at flood stage. But I have to say, I do love the rain.

I couldn’t stay inside any longer so I put on a rain coat and went to the park to walk the trails.

The trees have fully leafed out, and they are so lush and green. There’s something about the rain and cloud cover that intensifies all the colors!

I took two circles around the park, finding different angles for photography everywhere I looked.

I love that park because it is a magical combination of single track trails and big wide paths, and sometimes you can only see around the next bend while other times you have amazing vista views.

And then I saw something wonderful that made me smile. Just off the path, a female deer stood enjoying an evening meal. Of course I took several pictures trying to make sure I got the best one.

But wait, she has a companion! I suddenly realized that there was a young buck escorting her through the woods.

I did not like the way he was looking at me, as if to say, “Back off or I’ll charge.” So I moved on!

Well that’s it for my Wednesday Walk — except for a cool old red barn that I snapped right outside the park. But I wanted to be sure to give a huge kudos to @tattoodjay, who hosts #wednesdaywalk, and @elizacheng, host of #makemesmile. You guys rock!
