DC Vs Marvel
---DC Vs Marvel---
We’re living in a golden age of comic book movies with more characters making their way to the big screen than ever before.
Comics is a medium used to express ideas by images. Nowadays most of the younger generations spend their time reading interesting stories through this art!
Especially, superhero comics are more famous all over the world.
The two dominant superhero comics, DC and Marvel have their own kind of unique and interesting stories for their characters.
But, some questions arises for us - "Between these two which one is better?", "which one is more popular?" and so on.....
So Lets find out......
DC Comics:
DC Comics, Inc. is an American comic book publisher. it was started by Entrepreneur Major Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson.
it is one of the largest and oldest American comic book companies, and produces material featuring numerous well-known heroic characters including Superman, Batman, Nightwing, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, The Spectre, The Atom, Aquaman, Hawkman, Martian Manhunter, Supergirl, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Zatanna and Cyborg. Most of their material takes place in the fictional DC Universe.
The initials "DC" came from the company's popular series Detective Comics, which featured Batman's debut and subsequently became part of the company's name.
Marvel Comics:
Marvel Comics is the common name and primary imprint of Marvel Worldwide Inc., formerly Marvel Publishing, Inc. and Marvel Comics Group, a publisher of American comic books and related media. Marvel started in 1939 as Timely Publications, and by the early 1950s, had generally become known as Atlas Comics. Marvel counts among its characters such well-known superheroes as Spider-Man, Wolverine, the Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Captain America and Daredevil, including such teams as the Avengers, the X-Men, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and the Fantastic Four, and antagonists such as Venom, Doctor Doom, the Red Skull, the Green Goblin, Thanos, Ultron, Doctor Octopus, Magneto, Kang the Conqueror, Mystique, and Loki. Most of Marvel's fictional characters operate in a single reality known as the Marvel Universe, with most locations mirroring real-life places.
1.Marvel or DC, Which is Better?
Both Marvel and DC top the superhero comic book industry in terms of media production, financial success and fandom/popularity. Dominating their respective markets and genre, the two have rivaled one another in various forms of media and fandom for decades.
2.Differences:
It has been argued that while DC started out with heroes of super-human abilities (Superman, Wonder Woman), Marvel tried to produce a sense of evolution of their characters into superheroes through probable means (Spider-Man, Fantastic Four), but later embarked upon producing heroes with more supernatural abilities such as Thor.
Another difference between Marvel and DC, is that the DC utilizes fictional locations for its heroes such as Metropolis (for Superman), Gotham City (for Batman) Central City (for The Flash) and Coast City (for the Green Lantern), whereas the Marvel uses a real life location such as New York City for most of its heroes such as Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, The Defenders, Spider-Man, The Punisher, Moon Knight and other Marvel heroes.
3.Which Universe Wins?
The upside is two-fold: You get a choice while enjoying the DC vs. Marvel battle many comic book fans have had for years. So, which is for you? Well, that depends on what you’re looking for.
If you’re a continuity junkie, Marvel’s Avengers universe is your pick. The Marvel universe is filled with stories crossing through all of their properties, from the big screen to the streaming one, which makes it a lot of fun to get involved. But sometimes it can get a little overwhelming, and without watching every single show and movie, you may miss some inside jokes or references to past events.
If you’re afraid a vast, sprawling film universe will mess with your favorite TV show, stick with DC. DC’s universes are more localized, and you can enjoy smaller TV properties without worrying about how it affects the big films. Since the main movies are just getting started, it’s hard to predict what we can expect in terms of interconnectivity. It’s possible that by introducing a multitude of characters at once it will be easier to follow each storyline as DC narrows each film by character.
Whatever you prefer, hours of fun from both give you a great deal of options to devour. Maybe one day comic book fans will finally get an inter company crossover, say "Avengers vs. Justice League?" But don’t hold your breath.
4.Who Has More Fans?
There are 2 types of fans
1.Real fans: real geeks who know everything, read all the comics(and all the books), watch all the movies (even the old ones), watch all the tv series (even animated and old), read comic encyclopedias, and things like that.
2.Fake fans: fans that all the knowledge they have comes from afew movies that are not even based on any comics, they like characters because of the actors who play them and not acctualy the characters, and things like that.
Marvel has alot more “fake fans” (mostly because of the MCU), but they still have a fine amount of “real fans”.
DC in the other hand has alot more “real fans” but alot less “fake fans” (even with Wonder Woman movie fans).
so its about equal
5.Cinematic rivalry:
Both franchises have brought their competition to film. Unlike Marvel whose rights are split between the different companies (the X-Men and Fantastic Four at 20th Century Fox, Spider-Man at Sony Pictures albeit shared with Marvel Studios, and the solo Hulk distribution movie rights at Universal Pictures), DC has the film rights to every character they have created.
Even though DC Dominated at the beginning with their blockbuster films like the Batman Trilogy Directed By Christoper Nolan, Later they began to lose their form. the later movies like "Man of steel" , "Batman vs Superman" , "Suicide squad" gave very little response from the fans. even though "Wonder women" brought light to the DC Universe, Again The Justice League Didn't get lots of response from the fans. So the future of Dc movies is in the hands of Aqua man, Shazam, and the Wonder women sequel.
Marvel on the other hand started producing movies from 2008 ("Iron Man") and is about to complete their 10 years journey with the upcoming Infinity War. so far their movies got huge responses from the fans.
The main difference is DC movies has dark and serious tone but Marvel has light tone with not so serious story lines.
Let’s not forget, though, that Marvel films have missed the mark in the past: the original Captain America and 2003’s Daredevil film weren’t strong releases. Marvel struggled with the same issues then that DC is struggling with now: namely, not knowing what to do with their characters.
At the moment, though, in the Marvel vs. DC stakes, Marvel is the clear front-runner. DC is running out of ideas and it needs the right team behind them – people with a clear vision – to help push their characters forward, before there’s no longer a competition at all.
Even Though both had lots of pros and cons, it is with the fans which one to choose.
According to me DC is more better than Marvel in comics but, Marvel dominates in Cinematic Universe!
