Respect the difference in values.

The value system has undergone a drastic change just as technology. Things that were taboo fifteen years back are either irrelevant today or an object of general common discussion. If you cannot assimilate the reactions and feedback your parents share for something, how can you expect them just to chill over something they have always considered forbidden/infamous. Respect their belief if you want them to stand by your opinions.
