Growing up I saw some certain practice on young women which as breast ironing, genital mutilation and early marriage. Most of this habits or tradition are only seen now in some villages. While in mostly towns and cities you hear of rape, women Been beaten by husbands and boyfriends, psychological tumour.
First I will to start by defining violence;

Definition

Volence is any thing that will cause harm to any body be it physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritual.
This harmful activities does not tie up only to women.Men to on the other hand do under go tumour.
Male circumcision originated from the Jewish people which was part of thier religion then later spread around the world which is helpful and has been welcomed by almost all just a few people still stand against it, but female circumcision is or was common in Africa. In Cameroon this harmful activity was carry out parents to their girl children thinking they are helping them.
Female circumcision was been done by mothers who thought the act will help their children not to get in to early sexual activities and since it is based on romoving the sex sensitivity organs the girl child will not sit and feel for sex.
The process is as follows;
The woman uses a blade and cut of the clitoris at an early age before five years or before puberty.
In some families it was done because it a tradition.

consequences of female circumcision

. It may lead to complications and also causes infection
. Cyst formation is common
. The children does not feel for sex when she is grown. Since her sex sensitivity organ was removed she those not get satisfied with sex
. It can cause pain during urination.
The act of using heated or hot objects on the breast of a girl child to stop the breast from growing by mothers or by the children themselves is refer to as breast ironing.
At first most female children where ashamed went they start developing breast as such they will use hot objects to press on it so that it will stop growing. Parents did it so that male will not be attracted to them. People have different ways of doing this but the one i have seen is using a wooden spoon or stick warm in fire, when hot you press on the breast.

. It result in making the breast not to grow big again
. Some cases end up with two different sides of breast.
Early marriage ; this an other form of violence which many African people still do it till day. When a child is about 13 years old her father uses her to settle his debts to and elderly man or do to poverty she is forced to be married.

. She is exposed to complications
. The number of uneducated persons increases because she will not continue school rather be in the house to take care of children
. It's child abuse
. High risk of cancer in the future
. Some end up dying during child birth.

Rape

This the most popular type of violence world wide which is forcing yourself on a lady or child to satisfy yourself sexually. Some person go about having sex with babies just some months old. Having sex with someone who is not physically emotional mental in it is rape.
In the villages rape is common by parents, uncles brothers which they sleep with their children.
Not forgetting men are also been rape.

conclusion

Genital base violence awareness is fast growing in Africa which will help reduce all this acts. There are many bodies such as plan internationaletc in which any case of this can be reported they me saying reported there doesn't mean only locking up the actor in the act but alway medical treatment will be given to the victim.
With the high rate of children giving birth now our days sometimes it like what our parents where doing was correct but the truth is that we lack education on this or parents children talks in our homes so with proper support proper sex education proper moral support all this forms of abuse will be reduced.
