The Rainbow Cries - A POEM
The world is full of simple pleasures
that are a festival for the senses
A flower budding in spring
a butterfly fluttering on a breeze
rays of light peeking through leaves
kissing you with the warmth of sun
while walking a path through a forest
the earthy smells aromatic in the day
as birds sing songs of glory
to the tunes of wind rustled leaves
the world is full of simple pleasures
and the world is full of men
with deeds of lust and hatred
that call us away from pleasure
men with agendas not of beauty
but of power and conquest and greed
men who play with sticks and stones
hiding the beauty of the world
behind walls of worrisome actions
the world is full of simple pleasures
that have been replaced by screens
showing pictures of simple pleasures
backlit views of beautiful places
as the world speeds past experience
choosing technology over simplicity
and the simple pleasures become blur
a vibrant streak in a rearview scene
a rainbow lost to the forward of men
and that rainbow sheds tears of sorrow.
very nicely done. An expression of beauty and darkness together..great poem
