The Four Seasons - A POEM
The summer days are whittled away
as the earth dresses for autumn
in the vibrant colors of death.
Trees shed their leafy facades
exposing wooden skeletons.
A solemn remembrance that
even nature seeks repose.
The chilly breath of winter
whistles through bared limbs
bringing the purity of snow
to smother the decaying flora.
Humans hide in dwellings
as fauna forages for orts
the beauty of the season
tempered with desperation
for the warm kiss of spring.
Snow melts into new brooks
carrying rejuvenating elixir
to the waking of life anew.
Earthy scents mingle in air
aromatic and pleasing smells
signaling the advent of growth.
Sunny days shine on the planet
The warmth draws happiness
It is the time of the outdoors
summer offers herself fully
the earth plays with her guests
until summer days are whittled away.

This is like Vivaldi's Four Seasons, but in poem form :)
Four Seasons is one of my favorite pieces of music in its entirety. Autumn is my favorite season in the piece.
