My #ulog #7 - One full weekend!

It has been a really good weekend for me, with my best friend, Jo (short for Josephine) coming over for a company outing as she is now based in Manila. We’ve been best buddies since way back in college and though we seldom see each other like once or twice a year only, the deep connection has remained.

So last Saturday we met at their house for lunch like we always do whenever she’s in town. And I was really excited to see her again. She brought along four officemates who according to her are her closest working peers and we had fun, fun eating some of my favorite foods like

Freshly cooked shrimps,

Seaweeds which is perfect with tomato,

Dinengdeng - a mixture of different vegetables cooked with fish sauce.

And we also had raw oysters and jumping salad dipped in kalamansi.

My best friend and new found friends think that any expensive delicacy in a first class restaurant would fail in comparison with these dishes. I agree.

Satisfied and tummies full, we rested for a while then drove up the mountain for some viewing.

After some moments of enjoying the view and the windy air, we decided to go back down. And as if our sumptuous lunch was not enough, we all agreed again to have some special halo halo at a famous restaurant owned by my good friends, couple Xave and April.
It was no doubt a food tripping day!

And we had 3 orders of halo halo in a coconut shell, 3 -fried halo halo and French fries.

Full and contented, it was time to bid each other goodbye. It may take months before we see each other again but we saw to it that it was a quality bonding every time. Friends for life, that’s what we are.

I was guilty of overeating that day and that must have been the cause of my stomach upset for I suffered a really bad LBM the following day. Eleven trips to the restroom made me so weak and exhausted even after taking 3 tablets of medicine and a bottle of Gatorade.
Well I’m feeling better now and up on my feet because I needed to go to work, however I still have some grumblings in my tummy and very little appetite on food. So now I believe and it goes without saying that gluttony is a sin and it has its consequences.
