Nigeria election and 2019: the way forward
Election in Nigeria is fast approaching, multiple party system is being practiced but there are just two parties that strong hold or family name; they are APC and PDP.
APC- All Progressive Congress and
PDP- People's Democratic Party.
These parties have been ruling Nigeria since 1999, PDP for 16 years while APC is just 3 years but they are certain of 4 years.
Nigeria is a very big country with a very large population, in fact, they are the most populous black nation in the world, and the most interesting thing is that they are blessed with natural resources, and man power. Nigeria is not too blessed with good governance, maybe it's because of the population or greed, but I don't see the growing population as the problem, because so many other countries that have much more population that Nigeria are doing just fine, they are making good use of their population.
In Nigeria, some people are richer than some countries, they get their money through so many illegal means that so many of them are afraid of keeping their monies in bank, they'll rather dig a pit or tank or stock a whole building with money.
Most of them are in power, governors, senators, presidents, etc are all stealing one way or the other.
I always tell people around me that we should ask questions about the people we want to vote for, we should not vote based on sentiment, it's one of the things that have been crippling the nation.
Ask questions, google the achievements of the person you want to vote for, ensure you get answers from reliable sources before voting. Even if the person you want to vote for does not belong to the house hold name parties, just go ahead and vote for him or her.
Current president, Buhari, what has he done that you personally benefited from, your community as a whole, or the country, how have they benefited?
If voted out, the very strong opposition, they have Atiku, Atiku have been Vice President for 8 years, what did he do throughout this period? Will he do better if voted in? Will he be capable, or it'll just be the same old story.
These people both have their strength and weaknesses. Can they be exploited?
These people have used mostly religion and tribe to divide us, they are deliberately putting poverty into the land, hunger is the order of the day as getting three square meals is a great issue for millions of households.
Sentiment should be put aside.
No one can have presidential experience except he becomes the president.
We have been recycling the same people to rule us over and over, but no good result.
Should we continue like that?
Aren't you tired of the 'suffering and smiling' attitude?
'Omo wa ni, e je o se' (let him do it, he's our child) has been the biggest misfortune that befall us.
We forget integrity, sincerity etc because he's one of us, it's so so bad.
No wonder, the nation is not moving forward.
The only solution to these sufferings is 'VOTE'. Our vote is the only thing that can librate us, our votes counts 100%, don't be deceived.
Personally, I'm not voting for any of PDP or APC in the coming election in 2019, I'm voting for someone new, someone who's a youth, someone who listens, someone who's truly give us the change we deserve.
It's a very shameful thing that Nigeria at 58 don't have anything to show for it. The government have consistently lied and deceived us so badly that we can hardly think for ourselves.
The present administration are no different from the previous government.
The Internet never forget
Some of the lies they told us:
1.) 24 hours stable power supply (electricity): we hardly have power for 5 hours a day and its almost four years now, things are only getting worse.
2.) petrol will be N45 per liter: this is the greatest scan of the century, as a litre of petrol is now N145
3.) 1 dollar will be equal to 1 naira: it's far worse than they met it.
4.) minimum of one refinery will be fixed in the first 6 months of assuming office m: it's almost four years now, none is working yet.
Yes, the previous government have ruined the country, that's why they have been voted out.
The previous government were painted thieves.
Etc. the list are so endless, but till now, they are blaming the previous government.
The previous government was voted out for you and you're still complaining about them, they will not be voted out if they are working.
My advice is this; let's keep on voting for new people every 4 years if the people we voted for are not functioning.
We should keep on changing them until we have someone who is ready to work for the progress of the nation.
Vote wisely!
Vote not fight!
Don't be used as a political thug!
Having yourself killed will only be felt by your friends and family, so be wise.
Your finger is where your power is.
