Howdy there janton, good morning to you. How are you doing today? Hope all’s well. I don’t know who he is. But he’s got a statue. I’ll look him up on the Internet to get to know the man. But did you read the scribble on the cement wall? That’s awesome...for people passing. Do you think so too?

howdy back again roger5120! the statue looks great so he must have been important but the writing on the concrete, I can't quite make all of it out, what does it say?
hello there janton, you can't make out of it? :-)....well, the right wall says,
"man, can ask
God gives no more."
But the left side of the wall says,
"A Noble Life
A Noble Death."
Which i think is profound, hence he's on a statue.
howdy back roger5120! well about the script on the memorial..I don't really understand the right one and the left one might make sense if we knew who he was and how he died? A noble death, what does that mean?
I looked him up. He was originally from Iowa (1867), then he moved to Wyoming, then to Nebraska and finally to Tacoma, Washington. He studied law and became a US Rep of WA. He was also in the National Guard. He died in NY in 1909.
ok roger5120 it sounds like he had a good and successful life but I don't know if it warrants a big statue! I assume he accumulated alot of money and left it to some big institutions so they honored him with a statue.
Is that a good guess?
