The Invasor

"Sargar, we have traveled so far to correct this anomaly," Kempro told the fleet commander.

"Kempro, you're the second in command, I don't understand why you question the mission!" Sargar replied energetically, "if we don't avoid what they do now, we ourselves will have no future."

"But they are so insignificant, they are like ants under our feet."

The lights became more and more intense outside the ships, it seemed like the glow of hundreds of suns hitting the buildings of the city. Meanwhile, in the room where the last meeting between the commanders and their seconds was held, the expedition's scientific officer, the strategy and intelligence officer and the chief medical officer, there was a tense atmosphere.

The chief of strategy and intelligence took the floor and said:

"Commander, it is not necessary to destroy the entire city, we just have to capture the leader of the resistance that fights the Coalition, she is the key," Talit paused and stared at Sargar. "We have the technology and the means to do it without this destruction that we are infringing on innocent beings right now."

"I have my orders and I don't discuss them," replied the Commander.

They all looked at Sargar, it was clear that they did not totally agree with the actions ordered by the fleet commander, it was supposed to be an exploration mission, not an invasion, after all, the planet harbored life very similar to yours and they were a peaceful race that they had learned from their own wars, that these are a contradiction that would destroy them in the end. So how to understand those orders from the planetary headquarters? In truth, in what sense would insignificant beings be a threat to them?

A multicolored light took a humanoid shape in the center of the room, his height exceeded eight feet and his visible seamless clothing was glued to his body like a second skin that glowed intermittently, everyone in the room immediately bent his knees and looked at the floor.

"Talit, you're right. Stop irradiation." The awesome being exclaimed.

Kempro reacted by telling the commander:

"Sargar, you already have new orders."

The commander looked at his second coldly, raising his left hand and in his mind ordered that the irradiation be stopped. A great silence was heard, all remained with their heads down, with the exception of Sargar, Kempro and Talit.

Unexpectedly, in the city, the captain and his men outside the building where they were, like Susan and Keith as they ran through the streets fleeing from the deadly lights, raised their heads and watched the spaceships disappearing from nowhere, minutes before, they destroyed everything around them.

To be continue...

@janaveda,

Much of an "Independence Day" vibe... yet more... this was an excellent example of what a post can be; proper source, graphics, details of prior stories... are you planning to have this published, my friend? Or just keep it here on the blockchain? Look forward to seeing this as it plays out...

Thank you very much.

Hello @wesphilbin,

Thank you very much for your good comments. Regarding your question, I don't know if the story will be published outside the block chain, I suppose it will depend on the criticisms I receive in the development of each segment. Each short story is a narrative exercise to explore how far I can go. Finally, regardless of the fictional storyline, deep down I try to explore the human psyche through each character that emerges and its connection with the others.

Thanks for reading me and I hope not to disappoint you in the next installment.
