Squeakling, The Eternal Kitten (Original Photo)

A few years ago I found this kitten in the bushes, soaked and shivering in the rain.

There were three, I took two and another person in the parking lot took the male. He tried to bite me but having no teeth found that to be a problem, but first impressions are everything so I had no problem letting the lady take him.

She was named Squeakling because she doesn't really meow, she squeaks, and being a tiny cat the suffix 'ling' gave it a smaller sound, I thought.

I almost named her Avocado because she was tinier than the avocados on our counter. We have some weird naming customs in our family. We've had PooPoo, who I wrote about, Friendly Cat, Squeakling, and Little Fluffy One who was Squeakling's sister. She was fluffy.

I used to be a cat person.

Being an introvert, and a bit of a snobbish teenager if I'm perfectly honest, I always considered myself a cat person. I was aloof, up all night and asleep all day — like a good teenager. It's funny how we change over time. Now I go to bed at 8!

I much prefer dogs, these days.
