In Acehnese tradition, this food is only used on certain occasions. Indeed, this food is not considered sacred by the community but if not on certain occasions this food is difficult to find.
In Aceh this food is usually used at family or religious events. At the event to welcome new families, at the opening ceremony for members who will depart. Or at an opening ceremony of an event and the inauguration of a building including a new house that will be occupied soon.
When asked why this food is only available on certain events, I don't know myself, indeed this food has no effect on those events. But many people say that on certain occasions the food is not considered less than perfect.
This is the reason why on certain occasions in Aceh, especially this food is always available, with different shapes and colors. Maybe this is what is called a habit that is carried out continuously so that it becomes a culture.
