Cherry blossom trees, Nara, Japan
This picture was taken in Nara (奈良), capital city of the Nara prefecture. The city is one hour of train from Osaka and less than two from Kyoto. It is well-worth visiting for at least a full day, as it is a must-see ; most notably known its eight temples, shrines, ruins and thousands of stone lanterns (I really love those) that border the eponymous park.
Among the temples, you'll be lucky to admire the Tōdai-ji (東大寺), a National Treasure, that holds the world's largest bronze statue of the Buddha.
And of course, if you're there during the cherry blossom period, you won't be disappointed as it will add yet another layer of awesomeness to your trip.
💡 Trivia bit: did you know that for a short period of time, Nara as the capital of Japan? As such, this period was named the Nara period.
I'll have more great pics of Nara in a separate longer post (same as Miyajima, and the Kenroku-en garden) but they take longer to write so, patience friends!

Very nice Photography 👍
🙏 Thank you very much!
My best friend has lived in Tokyo for the last 18 years. He's from Scotland and still hasn't learned the language. Just looking at your photo reminded me of him. He cycles everywhere, I guess its a big thing there.
Yes it is true you can live and work there without knowing the language, most probably if you work for a foreign company (one of our friends worked for Michelin for example).
I think bicycles, combined with the subway/train are excellent means of transportation in Tokyo. Most people do not own cars because the transportation network is excellent and can get you everywhere. I wish more cities were like that...
