Review of Sushibar Da

We stumbled upon the Sushibar Da while walking near Kingston's waterfront. It is a small sushi bar that has a few tables, I would say up to 25 people or slightly more.
While it has sushi in its name, and it does indeed offer sushi and some very fancy ones, including vegetarian, it also has soups and ramen.

My wife had very good and fresh vegetarian makis: one with seaweed and cucumber, and the other with sweet potatoe and avocado, definitely the better one of the two. The rice was good, just the right amount per piece. They come by six and are sixable. So two different types of makis could very well make your lunch.
We did not know how sizeable it was, and also tried gyozas (tasty) and an assortment of tempura (good too). We managed to finish everything but it was clearly too much!

As for myself, I had a tonkatsu ramen, and it could have also been enough for a lunch. It was not fancy, just the usual ramen you would expect. At $12 the ramen, it really was quite alright and enough for a lunch.
There are a few domestic/local beers, the usual imported Sapporo and Asahi, and a good selection of sake that you can have hot or cold.

The service was very fast and courteous, nothing bad to say really. I would recommend the Sushibar Da to anyone wanting to eat a nice Japanese lunch or dinner at Kingston; we enjoyed it quite a lot!
