RE: RIP @msgivings

in #rip8 years ago (edited)

I always find suspicious that this kind of account that barely engage with people and where it is hard to depict the personality of the author, reach so easily on a regular basis such high reward. Unfornately, I would not be surprised to learn that a wealthy whale game the system that way. At least we can check amongst the whales who upvoted all the @msgivings post.

There are tells:

  1. @berniesanders, @steemed, and @itsascam are the first three voters on almost ALL of "her" posts.
  2. @steemroller is always in there, so is @recursive. And they are dummy accounts.
  3. no verification photo anywhere
  4. Look at the earnings on her first post. No one makes that much out the gate unless they are already famous or have a lucky INTRODUCEYOURSELF. And even then, the following posts ALWAYS go down and then gradually build back up again.
  5. Her following posts all earn CONSISTENTLY high amounts. No one does that unless they are already well established in the community, have hundreds of followers, and have curated or invested significant amounts SP. None of these are the case in her profile.

If @bernie was smart he'd be more careful to make her look more authentic. When I look at users I like and want to follow, even the famous and amazing ones, I never see that level of high earnings post after post after post when they first start out, unless they are highly unique as a celebrity and have unique content. And even then....

@rossulbricht could probably pull it off, but @quinneaker has dips and valleys.

Good points. Let's not point finger at someone particularly though, as long as we don't have any proofs. Just keep this possibility in minds and recall it when a scammer is unmasked to see if it leads to a specific whale.

There's a group that has followed him/her with username badger followed by numbers. I can't tell how many of them there are, but it's a lot.

those accounts are miners.. they belong to a dude named everest he tried to sell them at one point.
