Aceh Governor Plane Broken wings
Governor Explains Chronology of Emergency Landing Planes
Banda Aceh - Governor of Aceh Irwandi Yusuf held a press conference at the Governor's Hall to explain the incident he experienced while flying on Aero Shark to Banda Aceh from Aceh Jaya District, on Saturday 17 February 2018 afternoon.
In the event the Governor made an emergency landing in the coastal area of Lam Awe Village, Ujong Pancu, Peukan Bada Subdistrict, Aceh Besar.
The governor explained that the incident began when he was on a flight back to Banda Aceh after a three-day working visit examined projects funded by the state budget in several districts in Aceh.
At that time the Governor was flying at an altitude of 3500 feet. Arriving on the Leupung suddenly crashed aircraft engines.
The governor suspects that the crash machine is caused by an inadequate supply of fuel.
At that time the Governor took the decision to land an emergency in Leupung area. The reason, with the condition of the engine is dead, the plane may not be able to reach the airport.
"I turned to the shore, I wanted an emergency landing in the sand, suddenly the engine was alive again, when my life went up to 2000 feet to go to Banda Aceh," said the Governor.
However, a moment later the plane engine went back to death so the governor reported to the tower to make an emergency landing.
The landing process initially runs smoothly. But when the wheels of the plane touched the sand, the plane tire finally sinks into the sand.
"Then hit his nose, hit the right wing with the ground, broke his wings, I came out of the cockpit," said the governor.
A moment later, the Governor came a boat from the sea to help.
"Then with the boatman I drag a little plane onto land."
The governor acknowledged, before flying there was no sign of the plane having engine trouble.
The plane, said the Governor, will be sent to the plant for repair.
The governor also explained, the plane is actually equipped with a parachute. However, because there is a sloping coastal location, the governor decided not to develop a parachute.
The reason, if the parachute is developed, it is feared the plane will be carried by the wind toward the sea, or can get caught in the building houses.
Concerning the repair of aircraft, the governor said all the costs will be borne by the factory.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Nasrun who is a flying teacher of the Governor of Aceh who attended the press conference, said the Governor's decision to make an emergency landing on the beach was right.
"The decision of landing emergency is very professional," said the former fighter pilot.
He said, according to the calculation of the distance between the position of the plane with the airport Lanud SIM then it is unlikely the plane can reach the airport in a dead engine condition.
