How to identify a White Pine...
White Pine
(Pinus Strobus)
The Eastern White Pine can be found in Eastern North America. It can be found from Canada to Northern Georgia. It's the tallest tree in Eastern North America. It's a coniferous tree and it has needles instead of regular leaves. It's used in the lumber industry and can be found in furniture and cubbards just to name a few uses.
The needles are long and soft and at the tips of the limbs is where the pine cones grow. The White pine grows long narrow cones.
The needles grow in pairs. They usually have pairs of 5 but are also seen in pairs of 3 and 4.
This is what the bark looks like on a White Pine.
