Rural Reflections: Orchards, Elections, and Evening Delights
Greetings, dear friends, how are you all? I hope you all are fine and enjoying your day. I wish for you all good health, wealth and a prosperous time ahead. Today I am here to share with you yet another day of my life and I hope you all will get time to read and know about one more day of my life and also find it worthwhile to read and vote.
I got up to the chirping of birds who had come on the window of my room to wake me up and help me start my day early. I after performing ablution, went to offer prayers in the nearby mosque to start my day with a connection with the divine. I have a habit of rising early and offering the morning prayers well in time so as to start my day with some positivity. After I was done with making the prayers I set up for a walk towards the hilly side of the village to help myself burn some calories. Going on walks early in the morning these days is quite a pleasure as the fruits have started ripening, and as we are approaching the season of Harvesting, it’s quite pleasing to be out in the farmlands as it becomes a reason of inner felicity. I returned home to have my breakfast together with my parents who were waiting for me to return.
As I have been deployed with the election cell of the district. I have been relieved from my parent office and have been assigned a new task till the election process is over. In this regard, I am supposed to reach the district headquarters every day to help the other members of the team to upload the data online on the portal already provided by the election commission of India. The other members are assigned the job of receiving and scrutinising the nomination papers from the various candidates who are going to file their nominations for the upcoming assembly elections of the state, I being a part of the technical team am supposed to upload all the data online. The nominations are going to start from couple of days from now, and for that, we need to be prepared and put in place all the arrangements for the same.
While I was out for my official duties, I could feel the heat and as I was feeling hungry as well. I went to have some curd at a nearby shop where I usually visit whenever I am out for any official work towards the area.
After finishing my official work at 4 PM, I left for my place, and as I reached home I took a nap for about an hour to get some fresh energy for accomplishing activities for the rest of the day. I went to one of the orchards to not only refresh myself there, but also to have a look upon the fruits which have started ripening and would be ripe enough for blocking in the next month. As Horticulture has been the backbone of our economy for long time now, we need to be very cautious regarding the health of our crop because any leniency at the fag end of the harvesting air could result into a big loss. Today, I could recollect my past by bringing home some corn cobs which after roasting made me to feel the same, as we used to when we were kids and used to love those cobs very much.
Later, in the day I Spent some time on the study table reading about some aspects of the Indian political system to know about the political machinery of our country. It was quite interesting and I was so absorbed in knowing about how the elections play an important role in determining the fate of this country.
I had my dinner at 10:30 PM after which I went through social media for a while and as I was done with scrolling up the reels on Instagram, I retired to sleep at 11:50 PM.
It was all about 24th of August.Thank you for going through my post. Have a great time ahead.
