Wind Music. Rico Rodriguez

Continuing with the sound of the winds, today I want to leave for your delight a Cuban artist, Rico Rodriguez was born in 1934, Trombonist who came to Kingston to join the Alpha boys School where he would study music classes.
There he joins great wind instrument players, important for the history of reggae and ska, Tommy Mc Cook and Don Drummond
Rico achieves his first hit Rudy, a Message to You with the band that led Rico's Combo or Rico and the Rudies.
His most famous album, without a doubt, was "A Man from Wareika", which led him to perform with Bob Marley and The Wailers throughout Europe
In an interview with The Tundra magazine, Rico, during a conversation with Silvia Demetilla (interviewer), said, "Since I arrived in '76 at Island Record, I began to live from music without having to do another job. This, referring to the stage where he worked as an electrician and other industrial jobs in order to survive.
To listen to the trombone of Rico Rodriguez is to feel the wind and to move like the palms, is to go to enjoy healthy a hallucinating moment, his style was unique, to go from one side to another like the waves of Hellshire Beach.
Enjoy this great Cuban trombonist with the 1995 Fu ManChu

This has been all for the moment.

That is exactly how I feel listening to him play. Good info, I did not know about Rico.
This man mixed several rhythms with the trombone, his particular style made him shine on stage.
great relaxing tune 👍
