A Thank You Letter to Virtual Growth

Dear @VirtualGrowth, Thank You.

Back in the day, long before internet, one would send a thank you letter for kind deeds and words. This is such a letter.

I do not know you personally. We haven’t done shows, worked, walked the streets or even shook hands. But we have met here because of Steemit. I have not won a contest or received anything financial. No, far more valuable has been all the work you do, the example you set for those here, and for your kind words.

You did not need to reply to that message I sent. I wrote to let you know I invested in something I believe has a successful future, @zappl. I wanted to confirm that I purchased what I could to support the Z team. Then sleep deprivation must have made me left me loose lipped as I confessed a little too much about who I am, where I am from, and where I know I will be. I hear all the time, “show some vulnerability”, but that can make some people uncomfortable. It is one of the reasons I appreciate live theater and the arts, because it is a safe place to comment on the human condition. There are many who are wealthy, and many more who are poor. And it never fails that one side is uncomfortable with the other. I have seen the poor hold cold hard grudges against the hard working wealthy and successful. And sadly I have seen the wealthy not hold a grudge but a boot on the throat of those struggling to rise. Yet another reason I appreciate the living arts as it can bring us together through the stories of our humanity. There is but one planet that we all call home, it is us against the forces of nature and time. And I have seen first hand through improv specifically how working together reveals unimagined rewards of not only joy, but creativity and productivity.

Not only did you listen, but you responded with something more precious than satoshis. You took your own time to share a little bit about your journey. I never would have imagined, but I am now all the more happy for your journey. My respect and appreciation for sharing your humanity and your story. My best wishes to you on your journey. I hope you run the tables on them kids at the World Series of Poker for starters. I hope everyone here is listening when you offer a helpful hand.

I know the time will come when I want to better understand the Bitshares and OpenLedger flow. But for now I appreciate all that I have learned thus far, while still being able to share the experiences I have gathered along the way. I am still a foreigner here, for while improv is a rich and thriving culture found in cities and campuses across the country, steemit is still an untapped frontier. My other interests such as motorcycles, golf, baseball, and movies are also not nearly as popular as contests, coding, and investing. There are also so many different personalities to encounter as well. Some people want only to hear the sunshine. While others appreciate satire and salty sarcasm. Some people will take my humor the wrong way. Some people will laugh at, and others will laugh with, my ups and downs. They’ll understand when I’m doing bit, being sincere, or perhaps they won’t. Perhaps nobody will read this but you. But I felt that if it was worth telling you thank you and wishing you well in private, then I might as well let the rest of steemit know about. Perhaps there is someone else you have helped and have been waiting to thank you. Perhaps there are others that already do. And perhaps there are people, right now, looking for someone professional AND compassionate like yourself. You’re not alone, I’ve met some other big dawgs with kind hearts here on @Steemit and Steemspeak. But for now, you did me a solid homie. And I thank you.

Wishing you all the best,

JacobTS

@virtualgrowth is a pretty awesome guy, always willing to drop in and say hey, and share a personal story relevant to the situation.

He tries quite hard here on steemit and glad to see someone take notice.

@jacobts I am so grateful to read your post and appreciate the loving words you share here. @virtualgrowth is one of my very favorite people here on Steemit. He blows my mind with his generosity and kind heart -- it's a rare find to experience love in such flow. I'm excited to meet him one day in person. Thank you both for sharing your hearts. What a refreshing post!

I am the "Undervalued" King of Steemit!!!!

"hard working wealthy and successful"
everything is created by the working class.

agreed. i do not fear that word "work". i never have. i love what i do as profession outside of steemit. does it pay well, no. sometimes not at all. but that does not mean that it does not take effort, focus, and work. i am rewarded in the doing. the beauty of steemit can be rewarding others for their doing. WOW! Great thank you letter! I actually did a search on @VirtualGrowth because I wanted to thank him.

I actually met him in person, and even had lunch with him. What most people don't know is he is secretly (and quite ninja like), helping others in this platform and caring about this platform behind the scenes.

He helped me out with an account, and I wanted to thank him for that, and I found this letter , I know it's a year old, but, had to comment, :). thanks so much for all you do! I know you don't want the recognition, and that's not why you do it. But thank you!!
