Fisherman, they are so proud to be a Pilipino!!!

I am from Lingig Surigao del Sur, part of Philippines.

Most Pilipino people especially us, who are living in the coastal area are a fisherman. As what I have been said on my previous post that I am proud daughter of a fisherman. My father is a fisherman.

Here in our place, people used to catch fish every day because it is the living, it is one source for them. They lived to catch a fish and they sell it to a fish buyer.

This how they look like, it depends on what kind of fishing they used, others used fish neat and others used ''bingkwit'' that is very popular in our area and even young people know it and also they went to the sea to catch a fish and it is the cause for their living. Others provide their needs in school through fishing.

There is no other way here in our place is to catch fish especially if you are not professional, especially if you don't finish your degree. There are no big companies here. Also most people live in squatter area and I am one of those.

One of the fish they caught it is "Tulingan'' that was we called tulingan, I don't know on the other terms, I guess Mackerel, correct me if I'm wrong. Tulingan has 160 pesos per kilo, so if a fisherman got 10 kls he has already 1600 pesos and it is very huge amount for them..

Fisherman will be happy when they got a huge fish, because it is jackpot to them, yeah and I post it before that jackpot is their terms. Sometimes I wonder. Also, people here are happy and always count every blessings they have.
