2 Simple Rules That Will Increase Your Productivity
I want to share with you my point of view on how I'm trying to Increase my productivity.
One day I got that people do not divide into productive and unproductive by nature. Everyone can increase their productivity. Sometimes you just need motivation, but there are other ways. For example, the "Unicorn Principle" (according to which 2% of your efforts should result in 98% of the result ) or even intentional procrastination - all methods are good when you need to do a lot of work. To start a new, more productive working life and experience less stress, you need to follow two basic principles.
1 Put yourself first
Highly productive people know that workaholism is not a reason for bragging and they do not give a medal for it. Refusing to rest and not taking care of yourself is the right way to burn out. And burnout is one of the biggest threats for the involved and stable work in a modern professional environment.
To avoid burnout and maintain high productivity, highly productive people take care of themselves - and start with sleep. Studies prove that a full night's sleep is extremely important for maintaining mental, emotional and physical health. The priority of sleep is obvious: if your brain and body are tired, then your productivity falls.
From physical exercises depends not only the size of your waist. Regular exercise creates a sense of happiness and reduces the symptoms of anxiety and depression. Many people realize the benefits of regular exercise, but do not consider them to be priorities for deadlines and endless work responsibilities. For highly productive people, regular sports are a mandatory part of the schedule.
One of the most important obstacles to productivity and creativity is immersion in electronics. Employees today are constantly online, in their screens. Overloading with technology creates unnecessary noise, which is difficult to coexist with.
Highly productive people realize that a constant life in this mode is not in favor of their professional, emotional and physical well-being. Set aside all the gadgets and take up your hobbies, spend time with friends and family.
2 Focus on ONE thing
Multitasking is not productive. Recall job interview interviews. Surely you have heard the question: "Are you coping with multitasking?". Companies for years hunted for experts in multitasking: it was believed that the ability to juggle several projects at once indicates a hardworking team player.
But the ability to simultaneously manage multiple work flows does not benefit either workers or their teams. Contrary to the claims of some multi-operators, it is impossible to fully engage in two cases at the same time. On the contrary, such an employee constantly switches between several tasks, than he uses the reserves of oxidized glucose, which the brain needs for effective work, and the brain is depleted.
And when the brain is tired, mistakes happen. Moreover, the refusal to fully immerse in the work reduces the ability of the brain to search and store information.
Highly productive people know that multitasking only adds working hours and stress to their already busy days. They do not juggle with projects, e-mail and meetings, but solve tasks in turn. This increases the quality of work: leads to creative solutions with less stress.
Follow these two rules - and you will become a more productive person.
