Hi everyone, it my pleasure to join this content and I hope the story I'm about to share gives you reason to keep pushing for positivity.
As a Corp member I used to visit salons to make hair for People and collect my own share of the wages. The salary been given to us as Corp members in Nigeria is nothing to compare to the expense we encure. So, I finish my national youth service Corp a month ago. And decided to visit my sister for better opportunities considering where she lives in Abuja.

On the 28th of August 2024, I decided to visit a salon to see if I will be allowed to plait hair for some of there customers and have some money in my pocket while hoping for a better job. I noticed something strange in that environment precisely at Area one Garki Abuja. I noticed that teenage girls are involved in prostitution. Young girls that are still meant to be in college are using their God giving bodies to look for money.

I don't know if the government is to be blamed for this or the society, or the home they came out from. For me, there is no reason enough to justify sin. We all have our stories, not everyone here grew up with a silver spoon and am sure that if you came across this article you equally have your own story. There are minor jobs you can get at the street of Abuja that will put food on your table no matter how small.

My day was ruined by the site of them because I felt so sorry and pitiful for them. I guess also that the society has failed them. This are future mothers that are one way or the other going to raise kids tomorrow. There is an adage that say; when you train a woman you raised a nation. What morals will they inculcate on there future infants? A question only God can answer. For those that had the privilege to be sponsored by their parents no matter how small there support is, don't know what God has given them. Because, most of the streets in west African society's is gorible.

I wish I could help or at least offer my kind advice to them. But, been that I'm just a visitor in the neighborhood, I don't know my way around or even the right channel to follow in other to organise a mini seminar for this young teenage girls. Educating them more on the risk involved in prostitution. Most of them might even be offens or may be, some have parents that care less about parental upbringing. What ever be the case, I just wish them well and hopefully, by God's grace I will try and contribute my quota because humanity comes first. I just hope that fate smiles at them some day. Everyone deserves a second chances.
I therefore invite my friends to join this context

My dear this neighborhood watch is so weighty.

I believe those girls might have not gotten the necessary clue on the part they're taking and I wish they do encounter that awareness and safe themselves from it.

It's a pleasure reading your neighborhood watch keep sharing quality content.

MODs Comment/Recommendation:

Sadly, this is the situation we have found ourselves in, who do we blame now? The govt? A portion of the blame goes to them, but the earlier we realize that there is just so little they can do for us, the better for us. We have to rise up and be responsible for ourselves...get our hands to work and earn a meaningful living. While I support rising up and be responsible, I do not support going into prostitution. That's not a good way to earn a living, there's actually no justification for it just like You've mentioned. Thanks for sharing.
