I'm back with some more art to share! How's it going?
I've been tasked with something quite challenging for me because it's my first time to make an artwork with this style.

Let me just share my palette:

If you imagine that from white (highlights) the light yellows are like 2b, 3b and the darker the gradation the darker or stronger the shade.

I'm just using ordinary watercolor, it's even powdery.

Let's get to some work in progress pics. They're actually all in the compiled video but let me just reshare them.

Sketch with a light pencil, higher than 2b. This is line of h and you can use a hard eraser or a kneaded eraser. It's both for me.

Pop art is "sharp". It means there's no blending involved, just lines and borders according to the gradation. Your pencil sketch is very important, just follow it and erase it just so the watercolor won't look so bad.

Add some dark colors, you see the picture getting more formed.

For the eyes, same colors:

Just add layers of colors and darker ones to follow how your subject looks like.

I'm definitely not qualified to say any dos or donts but based on color mixing I can, make sure you don't mix colors which will turn ugly like mixing violet and green, blue and orange, or don't mix any color when mixed doesn't produce a secondary or tertiary color. They'll end up black, grey or brown. And we don't want that.

This is challenging to make this bleed out effect but I was looking forward to it and enjoyed the process. I am also wondering how else I can make more art this way.
