In my previous post with this link I highlighted on the main idea of airport and their components.
In this particular post I shall be discussing on types of airport and why they are so.

The classification of airport is based on the critical aircraft(largest aircraft that can Br accomodiated in the airport) and with the highest requirement for airport

Each airport assigned e code according to its characteristics. Code number and a code letter example 1A, 2B, 3C, 4D, 5E, etc.
The code number: refers to the airport reference field.
The code letter refers to the critical airplane wind span and the distance between the external extremity of the wings of its main landing gear.
There are also Canadian, us ,and UK airport classification.

The classification of airport due to operational sequence and air carrier operations these classes are
class I
ClassII
ClassIII
ClassIV.

First two classes and the last class are those that currently own part in the 139 airport classification.
And class 3 are the newly established airports.
