The sailing ship is a ship driven by a screen that utilizes wind power as its driving force. This ship's construction is generally made of wood and long enough to be used for both civil and military voyages until the invention of steam and iron / steel vessels in the 19th century along with the hustle and bustle of the Industrial Revolution pioneered by Britain through the invention of the steam engine by James Watt.
Initially, the sailboat was driven by human power as a rower and sail. Models of this type of vessel can be seen on viking ships, Ancient Egyptian ships, Ancient Roman ships, Ancient Indian Ships to the Borobudur Ship that has been using sailing ships. Along with the development, the kapa screen is used as it is found in Indonesia, the ship using a triangle screen as found in the Middle East and rectangular sailing ships used by the European nation before entering the century of exploration, as well as folding sailboat with the model encountered in Japan or China.
