Flooding
Flooding is an event that occurs when excessive water flow soaks inland. [1] The EU flooding interpretation defines flooding as a temporary immersion by water on land that is not normally submerged in water. [2] In the sense of "running water", this word can also mean the inclusion of ocean tides. Flood is caused by the volume of water in a body of water such as rivers or lakes that overflow or abundantly from the dam so that water out of the river .. [3]
The size of lakes or bodies of water continues to vary according to changes in rainfall and seasonal snowflakes, but the floods are not large unless the water reaches areas utilized by humans such as villages, towns and other settlements.
Flooding can also occur in rivers, when the flow exceeds the capacity of waterways, especially in river bends. Floods often result in damage to homes and shops built on natural river floodplains. Although flood damage can be avoided by moving away from rivers and other bodies of water, people settle and work near the water to make a living and take advantage of low cost and smooth travel and trade near the water. Humans continue to live in flood-prone areas is evidence that the value of settled near water is greater than the cost of damage due to periodic flooding.
