Wolves (Freewrite Challenge)

Rain is a new student in Western University. She came from a distant province after her parents transferred to the city as her dad was assigned there. Being a newbie, she suffered bullying from some of her classmates. She tried to make friends with others but to no avail.

There she realized that living in the big city is different from where she lived. There goes some of the students who were looked down by other students for their geeky look, and lacking style. This has been a problem for Rain as now she knew what kind of attitudes run in their school. Those students are Faith, Emily, and Sarah who befriended her, and she became close friends with them.

Since Rain is an intelligent person, she tried to apply for the school journal to be one of their writers. She had submitted her portfolio, which was liked by the editor in chief, and was accepted. There she started to write down a story about a girl who transferred to the city, and her journey.

One day in their class, there's a recitation by which the teacher called on Rain. Being an intelligent student, the teacher was amazed by her. That caught the attention of a group of ladies which are considered the most popular in the campus led by Regine. Other members are Alicia, Hannah, and Jenny. Thinking they can help her, and to take advantage of her talent, they befriended her.

Knowing they are the most popular ladies in the campus, she accepted their friendship. Faith, Emily, and Sarah learned about it so they warned her. But due to her desire of getting known in the school, and be liked by many, she didn't listen to them.

They went to the mall, and gave her a makeover. There, she felt she really belonged to them. Whenever they walk in the aisle of the school building, students are looking at them. Sarah once called on her, and Rain is supposed to approach her, but Regine stopped her. Being part of the group, Rain used to do their assignments and projects. But that's fine for her as long as she was popular in school. However, she seemed she forgot about her articles and work in the school journal. There at times she is sleeping late to rush them. Even the article she started about a girl's journey in the city and new school, was almost forgotten.

Rain's parents has noticed the change on her, the looks, the attitude, and she's always busy, so they talked and advised her. She just accepted them, but it passed on the other ear. One day, Regine and her pals are in the canteen and planning to put their feet in the walkway so a certain student will stumble. Rain arrived, and they told him to do it. She's skeptical to do it but Regine insisted. She did as they wished, and othet students saw what she done. The student fell on the floor with her food thrown away. The other students told the school heads what happened after she was rushed to the clinic for the injury.

Rain was called by the principal, along with her parents. She was suspended for a week. At home, instead of getting mad, they talked to Rain calmly as they are aware of their lapses. They have been busy with their jobs, and almost had no time for Rain. The latter apologized to her parents, and she was forgiven by them.

With the one week suspension, Rain remembered the article she is writing. She realized she didn't need famous friends, and she wrote her journey being the girl behind the character. She also called and visited her former friends Faith, Emily, and Sarah. After finishing the article, she emailed them to the editor in chief, who was amazed by tge story. Knowing it will be a good way to discuss and stop bullying in school, it was published right away.

When she went back to school, Regine and pals approached and apologized. Rain told them she has forgiven them, but she wants to discontinue her friendship with them, and left. She approached Faith, Emily, and Sarah which made Regine and friends looked down at her.

In their class, she was welcomed again by her teacher, and even congratulated her for her article, as it was chosen to be published in a prestigious national newspaper for the Anti-Bullying campaign. Aware about the story, and its content, Regine pals remained silent in embarrassment after Rain has made her speech inside the class. The story she had written was "Wolves in Sheep's Clothing*.
