Wig (Freewrite Challenge)

Bea used to have a long straight hair when she was young. It looks so healthy and shiny. Many people like to have the same kind of hair. It's like a crown that she never wants to lose, so she takes care of it with mild shampoo to make sure it will grow healthier.

One day, while combing her hair in the front of the mirror, she noticed a significant amount of hair fall. Being young, she's worried she might have cancer. She wants to tell her mom, but afraid of the hospital as she was never confined. Hence, she kept about her hair fall, but worried about her hair which she has emotional attachment with.

Her hair fall continues, and her mom asked her who's hairs are those in the sofa where she lied, but she pretended that her hair was stuck there when she got up. She became more worried as she's losing hairs significantly, and eventually told her mom about it.

Bea: Mom, I have something to tell you.

Mom: What is it honey?

Bea: I have cancer. I am losing my hair mom! (she started to cry)

Mom: (immediately hugged her daughter to give comfort) No honey. It's not cancer. Don't cry. We'll go to the doctor to have it checked.

Bea: No mom! I'm afraid!

Mom: You don't have to worry honey. Mom is here. I won't let you get hurt.

Her mom has comforted her, so she decided to go with her in the hospital. They went to the trichologist, who specializes with hair, and there the doctor checked her scalp. The specialist has diagnosed her with alopecia. She was prescribed with an ointment which she will rub on her scalp.

Her head looks bad already so all she can do is have it shaved. She felt depressed about losing her hair. It seems the initial treatment didn't work. In school, her schoolmates are bullying her for being bald, which caused her to lose her confidence.

Her mom bought her a wig so people will stop laughing at her. That doesn't change their perception, and still laughed at her. She doesn't want to attend the school anymore, and so her mom decided to hire a tutor for home schooling.

As she grows up, Bea has developed her skills in playing multiple musical instruments. She naturally has a good voice too, and started to write songs. It became her outlet to speak out what she feels. Her talent also became her source of confidence.

Time came when she has found courage to go out without wig on. That's after she joined a Facebook community of people with the same condition. She was encouraged by another alopecia patient, who became successful in business sector.

Bea took her camera, and focused it on her. Turned it to the video mode with her wig, and removed them. She started to play the piano, and sang and original song. Afterwards, she gave a message regarding alopecia, and spoke out for other with the same condition.

She uploaded the video on YouTube. The video started to gain traction, and was shared thousands of times, until it became viral. Bea was surprised as she didn't expect it to earn, eventually, millions of views. After a month, she received an email. The message is an invitation by a record label executive, who wanted to sign a record deal.
