Barn Door (5-Minute Freewrite Challenge)

Melinda woke up in bed with her husband, Paul. Greeted him good morning and smiled. They hugged before going down the kitchen to prepare their breakfast. Before going out of the room, she smiled again, and told her husband, I love you.

She prepared some sunny side up, and designed it on plate with smiley. It is her way to spread positivity to her family, and make them smile too. Called her family to the table, prayed, and started to eat. Everyone is joyous. Even her ailing husband doesn't feel weak because of the smiles of her beautiful wife.

Her daughter Lana, requested her mom to go to the beach to pick some shells. Her response is a wide smile, and they ran out of the door. Lana feels so cool and light everytime she's with her mom. They happily picked some shells from the shores.

There's a party for the elderlies, where her dad is attending. She brought joy to them, especially with her dad, Marcus, when they danced. Everybody are joyful as they sang and dance as Melinda takes the mic telling them to dance.

Her bestfriend Alanis, called her on the phone. She's too sad because of the break up with her boyfriend. Melinda baked some cake, and it writes at the top of the cake, "Cheer up :-)". As she reached her best friend's home, she opened the cake for Alanis, who was surprised. For sure, she was cheered up by Melinda.

Melinda's main weapon is a smile. That makes everyone around her happy, and forgets whatever they are going through. Of course! Smiles are contagious.

One day, Melinda opened the barn door. Sat down and crying. That's where she usually go so her family won't see what she's feeling. Spend an hour crying, wiped her eyes, and worn her sunglasses. Her husband is looking, but she gave him a wide smile.

She turned on the TV, and saw the music video of Lewis Capaldi's Before You Go. Reflecting her life to the woman shown in the video, and doesn't want to end up like her. Melinda called up her husband, she told her husband what she's going through. Paul gave her a comforting hug, nd promised he will always be there for her.
