Really interesting as always. To be really honest I think the ban of ICO ads is a good thing since in my opinion there are still too many people out there who do not read the whitepaper at all before they invest their money.

Will you attend any public venues in Europe in 2018?
Google is probably under pressure from regulators to curtail advertising for crypto. However do not underestimate how much a decentralised business model threatens Google. They make a lot of money from centralising and selling on information so I doubt they will be rushing to join the crypto party any time soon.
Google is a well-oiled machine. They can create their own token if they want--and I highly suspect it will be the second most valuable coin next to Bitcoin considering their wide array of products that can easily be integrated into the system, not to mention they have vast arsenal of talent pool at their disposal.
I think it's better that ICOs can't just advertise their shit everywhere. People that find an ICO through google adds are way more likely to get burned than those actually searching for ICOs through the sites that list them. Also great point on that it's pretty similar of a company advertising "come and buy our stocks!".

With the decline in cryptocurrency prices also comes a decline in public interest. Even though that is not entirely surprising, the current Google Search trends paint a rather interesting picture. Searches for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin are all down across the board, and it seems that situation will not change anytime soon.
Crypto is like no other asset class so the comparison to Apple IPO is not really valid.
BUT besides, aren't you more worried about the thought control from corporates? Why should our lives be dictated by what the corporate giants think is appropriate and what is not?
It's one thing that coming from courts, totally different when comes as an unspoken rule from corporates.
