Its A frosty One Today

New York Girl here in Florida telling you it is pretty chilly.

Laugh at me all you want but I used to be the one bundled like crazy during the crazy Buffalo storms. I was also the one to run outside as soon as it hit fifty degrees no coat and shorts feeling like I was in the Bahamas! I admired Florida for not having snow, I also laughed at them for complaining when it hit forty to fifty degrees, and wearing sweaters when it was sixty to seventy degrees.

I remember a time being on vacation in Florida at my grandmothers house and they had a community pool. It was seventy degrees ( a temp us new yorkers would die for in the winter) my sister, brothers, and I decided we were going to go for a swim down at the clubhouse public pool. Mind you on top of the beautiful weather, this pool is also heated. All of these older Floridians kept coming up saying things like, " Are You crazy??" I remember shaking my head wondering the same question for them. I mean This was perfection! My grandmother happened to be in the clubhouse playing games and someone had told her about the crazy kids in the pool. Not looking to see who it was she reported to the lady those are my grandchildren.

After about twenty four years dealing with the brutal winters of the north I moved to Florida. Two years now and i am sad to admit that I have become one of the "crazy" people wearing sweaters in seventy degree weather and searching for jackets and boots in Florida when it hits those fifties. Unfortunately Florida decided to Participate In winter this year. Making this decision after I had thrown all winter stuff thinking I had run far enough away from the cold and snow. I must be terrible at hiding because it certainly has found me. The dash on my florida car has reported ice possible twenty-six degrees, for the first time in just over two years I had to warm up my car and scrape frost off to take my daughter to school. I have most certainly been through worse, but if someone could turn up the heat I would be very appreciative.
