My next goal - Winter expedition in the Himalayas!

Hello fellow Steemians, I got back home from a mountaineering training course a few weeks ago and since then I have been preparing for an expedition that has been a dream of mine since a long time, a winter ascent on the mighty Stok Kangri peak (20,080 feet) in Ladakh.

I plan to leave in the January first week. If I am successful in my mission, this will be the first ever winter ascent on that peak. Around 20 people have tried to climb the peak in winter but failed. The conditions up there in winter are inhospitable. The temperature drops below -40 C, avalanches sweep the slopes every now and then, weather is unpredictable and there won’t be any human up there if something goes wrong. Now this might sound like pure stupidity to some people but for people like me, we live off such adventures!

I have been on the peak twice before in season time so I know the mountain very well!

This expedition is going to require immense planning, research and physical fitness. Since my return from the mountains, I have been training day and night. The only focus right now is to summit Stok Kangri in winter and come back safely.
