IS A COLLEGE EDUCATION WORTH IT?

While surfing the net, I came across this amazing debate topic and when I threw it into one of my school’s group on whatsapp, I found out most students go to school because they are told or forced to.

Fine! In today’s world, it is obvious that most rich personalities owe their successes to no college but self building and skills enhancement. Nevertheless, the studies and theories propounded by some scholars create avenue for self-development.

In as much as you do not for-see any advantage or positivity out of your studies in school have you asked yourself some questions?

What if my skill doesn’t sell easily, how do I survive?
• What if my project is rejected, how do I survive?
• What if I’m accepted and paid less because of no qualifications?

We should all note that acquiring a skill, developing your talent, enhancing your skills, achieving your goals and bringing your dreams to reality are all good things that the studies in college wish to accomplish BUT in a better way!
You can definitely go to school while enhancing your skills to suit the saying, “Don’t put your eggs in one basket’.

Furthermore, on the issue of most students attending school to return the certificates to their parents, wait! How did you even come up with that silly idea?

Why not advocate for a course that best complements your skills or goals. The University is not a place to go through only to come out jobless. College is an Avenue to set up your future. It’s a bed you lay so you lie on, in the future.

The certificate you are awarded is a piece of paper or award you might not value then but helps you for the time being when your plans crash or so.

Imagine a scenario where your business somehow goes very down and all you need is a job to keep you going?

These questions are the reasons why a college education is more than worth it.

I’m not sure I’m not there yet.😂 Although financially it seems like those with degrees make more . Although there are a few exceptions!

Definitely. But one has nothing to loose.
Perhaps one day the goods will come

This is a hard question to answer. So many factors.. what major, years, $, individual, and institute. Personally I have two degrees. I got hired and worked in field of study... not once did an employer look at my degrees or even check. Did they care? Was it based on my knowledge or confidence in subject? All I know is I pay a bill every month for a piece of paper nobody every asked to see.

Really?
What were the basis or the requirements for the interview?
That's good on your path too but that paper could help someday if you loose your current job.
I'm glad knowing skills pay better and I always wished it did.
One day you'll see the benefits of those papers.
😊😊😊

No clue why. One day when picking up equipment I had stored in my garage I forced my Boss/Owner to look at it. He was like I don’t care... I said I paid $$$ for this just humor me. I was in charge of eight retail stores in 3 states. Had 50+ employees. It worked out for me.. but I probably could if done same thing without the 70k debt. Who knows?

When I applied 4 yr degree was a requirement .

Hmm. The job offered to you. How did you get the vacancy and he employed you without looking at your certificate?

That I can’t answer. Since I graduated I had three different jobs. Not one employer asked for credentials. They took me on my word. Maybe real world problems need real world solutions and they didn’t care because I was more than qualified. That’s why I said so many factors matter. Field of study, yrs, $$, does degree have utility, etc. At the end of the day employers hire the individual not the piece of paper.

Well, that's the trend we met. But i think its worth it because it helps one to understand life a bit. Then improving on the knowledge after school to become what ever one should be.

Definitely.
Thanks for seeing reasons with me
👍👍👍

Yes o. College education is important. Even though we don't get to learn everything we wish to learn and sometimes the degree is just gotten for "degree sake".

My Dear that's the standard set up in this country.
Else where every discipline is relevant and plays a role in the employment market.
