HOBBY AND CAREER: WRITING

I could recall once a lecturer in school said that some courses are not worth anyone's attention because they were more of an expression that a discipline. I almost lost my senses in argument.

In the world today, Career as one's calling is what one doesn't plan for. Most individuals grow up with love and mindset for some other dreams but end up somewhere else! Why? You are your own way to succeeding.

I could recall the first story I ever told when I was a child and as amusing as it seemed, it was a step up game for me. My mother, siblings and neighbors laughed over it and up till now still do same. But as I grew older I realised that creating stories became the one thing I was very good at.

My mother was always fond of telling us old tales at night before we went to bed. My younger brother and I developed more interest in those stories. When she wasn't home to tell us stories my elder sister would pick up the responsibility and at a stage in her life she gave up on that... why? We knew all the stories already and she would give us something old again. That was when my hobby came in.

My younger brother would keep a sad face and I was his closest sibling so I had to make him happy and I started creating stories on my own. Most times the stories would lack endings, I just kept prolonging them until he slept off. I never knew I was building a talent. That went on and on until it became part of me to tell stories, write stories and give stories.

Today, I have built a hobby that is part of my career. And I feel that is the easiest thing I could ever do in this life. I just hope that one day I earn big from this field.
Writing is just a way of expressing what I can create. And I am my own way of succeeding...

Never give up on your talent. Fine, you could be engaged on some other activities that's fetching money now but continue aspiring because when your talent becomes your full time career, you become terribly rich!
