Three Letters: A poetic tribute to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
Three Letters
A nostalgic homage to my beloved alma mater and a tribute to the institute I will always call home. Thanks for taking a chance on me, MIT.
Never is known the power that three letters could contain until approaching these vast pillars,
perfectly proportioned and aligned like an assemblage of stern soldiers,
intensively awaiting command or crusade,
and sandwiching every intrepid academic who dares pass through.
An unsuspecting passersby snaps a photograph as scholars scurry by,
their thoughts preoccupied by problem sets, projects, and the lingering last commentary of professors,
all whilst struggling to stay afloat amidst the trials and tribulations that occur
inside the ivory tower these colossal columns sustain.
Academics of all shapes and sizes, weary from constant cognitive drudgery,
still manage to transcend the striking steps
and brace the facade with indefatigable spirits.
All who acquiesce to the gargantuan gatekeepers of limestone
emanate a yen for knowledge,
a desire for perfection,
and a burning thirst only to be provided by the nearest fire hose.
The protectors of intellect,
guardians of technological pursuits,
the overseers of experimentation at its finest;
they are the physical edifice that is
M.I.T.
