Wiehler gobelin - needlepointing - great charts collection

  Knowledge was passed from knee to knee. So our grandmothers taught our mums the art of crocheting, kniting and embroidery, and it was way of teaching in the past... So I also learned from my grandmother and from my mom the basics of hand working as a very young girl ... I mostly liked to finish the needlepointing. In the beginning, they were small, with just a few colors, simple to beginners. Later I went to the more serious needlepointing like Wiehler gobelins made in Germany. I remember when it was so difficult to get charts for a wiehler gobelins and how lucky I was to get some chart drawn by hand on ordinary notebook papers. But it was not difficult for me to use it. At the end I would be fullfiled with unmeasureable joy because of finished project ... When I married, I was lucky that my husband liked gobelins ( of course just looking at them and not even stitched them) ... but that was more than enough. He wanted to have everything, every single chart of them. And he started to collect different Wiehler gobelin charts. He searched for advertisements about gobelins, personally contacting advertisers and buying charts one by one...an say that we have over 400 different Wiehler gobelin charts in our collection and also other famous world companies like Lanarte, Passion Rikame, L &L ...
